Pay How You Drive Box

Never heard of it, just been readign up on the link and im still not sure i understand it!

They obviously monitor your driving style, which they review every 90 days.So does that mean you pay your insurance on a monthly basis and the policy can then go up and down, depending on how well or bad you have driven?

Also how much give and take is there with it? If you happen to go on a motorway and go over the speed limit a bit, do you get seriosly screwed?

And the big point is what do they really do with the data they get!!

Yeah.

Not sure how it works Mike.
I've not found much info on it.
I'm off to read up on it on a clio forum.
please dont think less of me.

I would imagine the Clio forum would be the perfect place to read up on it!

Oh right,so you will basically get a bigger discount on your annual premium if you have been a good boy(or girl). So in theory you have been driving safely all year, so save a % for being careful, and then in doing so you wouldnt have had an accident or picked up any points for speeding or dangerous driving, so would benefit from an extra years no claims.

Sounds good, for the sensible ones out there, but as im far to old to qualify i neednt worry!

Prices wise I dont think you save a massive amount, £300ish going by that link.
but they pay £1800 up front to get the box fitted and then the premium changes depending on your driving.
How do they know if you're driving or your dad?
what happens if you got a coach on the inside lane doing 65 and another one in the middle land doing 68 and you need to do over 70 to safely get past them?
you get in to trouble for going over the speed limit even though it was safe?

I don't like it. lol

its a simple big brother spying operation,

young people get this in there cars today and in a few years we are all made to get one as the cause no harm and if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about, APART FROM YOUR FREEDOM AND PRIVACY RIGHTS!

did you know that in some countries they have odd and even number driving days because there are so many cars in that country? so then your told you can only drive Mondays Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays and should you drive on the other days you will be fined!

the best thing you can do with this box is shove it back up the insurance company dirt boxes sideways!

I used to have this on my clio cup when i past my test as it was by far the cheapest, but the box i had mesured g-force and notices when you go above the speed limit via a gps tracker, it was about £900 a year providing i stuck to all the rules and only 4000 anual millage, well i went way over that and i forgot completely about the box bieng:sorry: there so when my quote at the end of the month. it was a wopping £4300 for the year if i carred on driving the way i did for that month. so i changed you have to drive like so slow and boring and in my previous car that was nearly impossible...

load of crap, all it can monitor is speed, and g force, you can be heavy on the brake, speed a little but still be 10 x that of a driver who obeys the speed limit, most accidents tend to happen below

if you are young, just offer a higher excess and then drive safely
