ASN's Pub

LOL, I used to say that until I started working IT Support.

I have now modified it.... The customer isn't always right, however the customer is ALWAYS the customer.

IT related customers are always wrong because they are mainly stupid tits!

I'm a server engineer so luckily I'm not that customer facing. I just hide away in the comms room ;)

Same, I primarily do servers myself, however I still get it.

For example.

Me "The backup didn't run last night, the error log says no media available. Did you put the Monday tape in?".

Custie "Yeah, I think someone must have changed it".

Me "So why is there no tape in the drive now?"

Custie "I don't know, maybe someone took it out. There was DEFINATELY a tape in there though".

Me "OK, no problem, I'll find the tape and see what happened then".

Custie "Or maybe the tape didn't get changed".

On and on and on that conversation went.

Pillock.

All I get is people say they can't remember their user name or password.
I bet they remember their facebook info though.

Went back and the paint is getting sorted out next week.
Had a phone call from HTC yesterday, can't say to much about it but they was true to their word.
New Desire HD waiting for me. :)

I now have two Desire HDs. lol
Hopefully two Otterbox defenders as well.
I got to give one DHD back to HTC though, they phoned up and I forgot to lie to them. lol

Such a shame you didn't get to keep both, could have made some good money! At least its sorted at last, and can see what you think to the updates.

May I ask what the otterbox is?

I like it.
Some nice little tweeks and touches with in 2.3.
I've had no issues with mine, nothing like people have been reporting about.
I really want to get HTC sense 3 on it now though.

Have had no issues with mine either since updating. Oh so otterbox is a case then! Shows what I know!

Looks good, is it easy to use? If so I'm buying some! I'm finding it so hard to get the motivation to wash my A3.

Piece of cake Mike, in the first pic, you unscrew the white part of the attachment and fill it up with the pink stuff, then it attaches to the end of a Karscher jetwash instead of the jet lance. The plastic know adjusts the mixture, and the end bit rotates also to change the spray pattern. I filled it up 3/4 and used half of that to coat the car, it goes down quick, but I think a stronger mixture is better to make it proper pasty, so you can leave it on the car for 5 minutes to soak in before the wash.

Morning Chaps!

Looking good Jojo, you have front mud guards?

I travelled to Brighton and back over the weekend, in the micra... man was that stressfull, it was sat at c. 4.5K in fifth the whole way, no easy 6th gear acceleration, no comfy leather and poop loads of middle lane hoggers - Mostly 40-60 year olds in their bottom of the range executive cars - tossers

I do too if I'm going slow enough. I always make a point of cutting right across middle lane hoggers and into the slow lane to show them where they should be.

I do this too lol, sometimes I pop the bird up for good measure. But the weekend was bad, at one point there was 5 or 6 cars all in the middle lane for no reason, I could barely even see a car ahead!

It's not so bad in the s3 because you have the power, stopping wise and engine wise to react, but in the micra you really wish they'd just f off back to the slow lane!

Same. When in the Clio, I thoroughly enjoyed getting as close as I could without hitting them. Especially fun for undertakers, pull in as they approach with little warning.... Mwhahahaha

Talking of driving carefully, i filled my 1.8T up with fuel yesterday as the light came on, and i had got 410 miles from the tank!!!

I was impressed, usually get about 350 with steady driving.

It can be done. now i've got my boost guage fitted I can keep an eye on it and stay off boost and keep revs lower than 3k for an eco drive ;)

I have a large A4 reminder for our backup tape, this is on the wall just below the alarm panel - so they have no excuse - still happens every now and then. Bollocking then follows from me.

Mind I do also reatime backup our very critical data over the WAN to my house over 30 minutes. Sat next to the box that hosts it at the moment, which is a bit noisy as a drive is going - my next job today to replace it.

Luckily my backup tape days are long gone. Everything we have is on a SAN then gets backed up over 3 tape library robots which someone else manages.

My job today is to get our patch management system working on a new image for 6000 machines!

Well I'm back this morning working from home :yahoo:

Mind I ache all over as I ended up helping to build the gallopers, so lifting the heavy metals posts, platforms and horses (some of which are solid hardwood). Pushing a keyboard round all week means my muscle tone has gone to pot - time to look at a small set of weights for home me thinks.

Was good fun though and set up and ran a 4 piece Country and Western band yesterday - on my own, as well as doing a test recording in Reaper using our newly aquired 8 channel AtoD Firewire interface. Just need to read up on how to mix down to a stereo CD in Reaper now. Guess I'd beter do some work first though. :sadlike:

I'm just bored.

Not just bored, so bored I make a bored person look interested.

I am more bored than someone who is bored, in a really boring place, whilst watching something REALLY boring.

My bro is a sound engineer and is well into his mixing and getting things just right. It drives me mad listening to the same piece of much 1000s of times where he's adjusting sounds and effects! He's built his own little studio in the spare room.

Yeah, we've hit backup tape issues with over capacity now. Great...

Problem is we have to have offline/offsite backup storage due to the business' emergency contingency. Whoopie.

Internet based backup would be ideal if the broadband here wasn't so crap.

I guess that makes you BORED then

Well you could do some research for me if you want - I need a 2TB external eSata Mirrored portable solution for Audio recording - to run with XP 32bit. LOL

IT related so you should get away with it.

Paul

Was a long time ago you last filled up then from empty then!!

Glad to have the phone back then?

when I get mine back I'm expecting to average about 15 over the first few days lol
