I've just fitted a rns-e to my 07 plate S3, which has audi phone prep, iPod multifunction steering wheel and Bose. Swapped the Bose wire, vagcom'd it and I'm getting a lack of bass, and the following fault codes.

16 Steering wheel malfunction 0010
19 Can gateway malfunction 0010
37 Navigation 0011 not registered
52 Door electric passenger malfunction 0010
56 Radio malfunction 0010

Is there anybody who can help me solve these problems?

Thanks,

Daz

Some sites that can help you out:

VAG Codes for RNS-E | Audi Forum

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/67896-converting-symphony-ii-antenna-system-use-rnse.html

Have you set the welcome screen to S3 one? If not check in here (Below):

Full list of codes here: link

I'd say your coding should be:

{Instrument Cluster}

Control Module Coding

Select 56 (Radio System)
Coding -> Function 07

0:
2: Audi S3 (8P)
0: Malfunction diagnosis for front loudspeakers active
9: Sound System
7: Base plate diagnostic capable with comfort control
1: No additional Tuner
7: CD-Changer and Multi-Function Steering Wheel installed

so 0209717

Then you need to change:

Control Module Adaptation

Select 56 (Radio System)
Adaptation -> Function 10

-> Channel 001 (Tire Circumference)
The tire circumference is beeing adapted in "mm", a tire circumference table can be found here.

{Tire Circumference Table}

Summer Tires

1790 - 145/80 R14
1815 - 165/65 R15
1803 - 175/60 R15
1806 - 185/50 R15
1935 - 195/65 R15
1910 - 205/60 R15
1930 - 205/55 R16
1818 - 205/40 ZR17
1960 - 215/55 R16
2060 - 225/60 R16
1930 - 225/45 R17
2074 - 225/55 R17
1943 - 225/40 ZR18

-> Channel 002 (Wheel Pulse)
The wheel pulse describes the amount of wheel pulses per tire revolution. If value 0 is entered the system calibrates automatically itself after several kilometers and inputs a value.

43 - Audi A3 (8P)

Thanks for that,

Done all those what you suggested, and still had a lack of bass, and fault codes, put bose pin back in and now I have thumping bass, albeit with the fault codes. Any other ideas? Or have you any idea what colour the bose wire is? Just wondering if it was actually wired correctly?

Are there any other wires that may need moving?

I'm sure Bose wire was brown; I'll check... I wonder if in different year models of car the loom is different (our is 2007)

Thanks for all your help Warren, much appreciated! :) you're a star! A prince amongst men.

List the actual faults as those logs are useless to anyone on here, we need to know what each module fault is advising please in order to advise you, as atm we're speculating what the issue is.

Well according to your 1st post, that wasnt the sole error tbh, nav wasnt even enabled in Can gateway, but seems you've sorted it now, just the antenna issue.

Oops - Just found another :-(

Can Gateway

1 Fault Found
01044 Control Module Incorrectly Coded

How can this be done?

Just shown up!

Fella we cant help you without posting the logs of the faults & current coding, that doesnt help us at all apart from telling us its not coded correctly, we need to know what the coding is in order to determine the issues.

Just swapped my mk1 RNS-E for a mk2 which I purchased from jarastech on Ebay, before I recoded it, it showed a catalogue of fault codes, once I coded it to my car the codes were still there however I cleared the codes and it went back to just the antenna fault (which everyone gets with the non rns-e antenna). Does anyone know if this is normal.

Does this help?

i had similar codes up just trial and error really but i remember the not registered ones were registered by i think by marking it in the installation list in central convenience or can gateway.

Have you enable "Navigation" in the CAN Gateway module? If not then i would start there.

Does this help?

Without a doubt something is either not ticked in the gateway long coding that should be or something is ticked that shouldnt be, given nav states not registered in the 1st post, this would as already suggested be a good place to start.

Thanks again everyone, but still having problems,

Gone in to can gateway coding, tick off what I need, and untick what I need, click do it and nothing happens. Grrrr, am I doing something wrong?

i have bluetooth...........mfsw whats my code going be?
