I fitted my Badger 5 TIP the other day, whilst the TIP was off I checked how the spindle in the turbo was holding up.
It span very smooth and had no up and down play, however it did move side to side by about 1cm. Is this normal ? or is it something to worry about ? maybe an excuse to get a hybrid ordered ¬_¬.

In and out play is bad, end of discussion really mate I'm afraid.

If you can push the shaft in and out at all it's not a good sign, but 1 mm (I'm assuming you meant 1 mm as 1 cm would be epic) isn't then end of the world - but bear in mind it will most likely be on it's way out.

no that wasnt a typo, 1cm, maybe a little less, but a lot more than 1mm.

strange because it boosts to 22psi no problem, I guess its just a matter of time until it goes bang then ?

Next question, which hybrid ?

Yeah, mine used to with massive in and out play, however at 1 cm play, it will be now slowly eating into the oil seals, and thus it's doomed...

Which hybrid, now that is the question at the moment. New developments on the horizon so hold fire for as long as you can.

My hybrid/Welly's old hybrid is now in version 1.2 form, and is the top spec one that they offer IIRC. Hopefully we will have some figures by Sunday.

Cool, I will wait on,

what sort of price are we talking? do they do a replenishment scheme where they send you a turbo and give you chance to swap it over, then send them back yours ?
Or does it have to come off and you have to wait for them to get it back to you while the s£ sits on the drive.

You send yours to them. While your car sits on the drive they will strip your turbo and make sure its repairable first. If it isn't you'll need to buy a whole new unit. If it is ok you can get them to do whatever you want. Then they send it back and you refit.

I'm getting my K04 done in 2 weeks but just a standard refurb. The labour alone for my mechanic to remove and refit is £500!

If you want to go hybrid you will need some other supporting mods too which all add up. It's not particularly cheap as I'm sure Welly will tell you.

That seems expensive mate, I know one thats been removed and refit for £90,from the side, while that is insanely cheap he did the job fine, i think £300 is enough

Same way as i removed mine, Massive ball ake of a job so @ £500 not bad really.

Hmmm contradicting opinions ;)

He's quoted me 2.5 hours to remove and 2.5 hours to refit. He's doing my service too and maybe my heater matrix so he might knock the price down a bit.

Might sting abit with oil, ive got a spare tub of ky jelly if you like westle :).

for throwing on random women in the hope that they'll start wrestling on the street :lmfao:
