Removal of rear light cluster on 2005 A3

Hi, is there something else holding the cluster in other than the plastic nut on rear pannel?

nope there isnt but there are 2 plug in style connectors which sit in like a rubber grommet.

You need to pull the light towards you and carefully pull them outwards to get them out.

There kinda is something else that holds the cluster in. It's not a nut that you have release, more of a little ball ended piece of metal which fits into a hole in the body of the car. If you look behind the cluster (on the indicator side of each) you should just be able to see it.
A tug and a slight twist will release it.
