Rear camber isnt adjustable without adjustable tie bars mate, the only thing they will do at the rear on a standard car is adjust the toe.

Haha and where do you suppose he gets those?? Hmmmmm lol.

Yeh I think you could be right, which makes me think twice even more about gettin it aligned before I've done the back.

done next to nothing on the car this weekend, which is boring, only gave it a wash, and did some touching up and polishing on the paint

she looks well though.
ordered some powerflex anti roll bar mounts so that'l be the next job, hopefully get that done before my trip to awesome. im not gonna try and re bush the rear before i go there because its quite alot of work, well, labour intensive anyway.

on the other hand i have some bike porn for anyone thats interested.
fitted a K&N to a cbr600rr-5.
airfilter is under the tank and under the main ecu

heres a comparison between the two filters, strangely the k&n was slightly smaller, but its clear it will flow a hell of alot better than the standard one

this i thought was pretty cool and id never seen before, as you can see it has injectors here, which i was like, this cant be where they are, right before the throttle bodies??
P4290032.jpg

P4290031.jpg

turns out it has two stage injectors, a set which are direct port injection, and then upon full throttle, or roughly 90% as we found out, these come in before the throttle bodies mixing with the what would be ram air.
took a video....

pretty freaking cool to me

Haha good idea mate. I'll try not to spin when I go later in the year ;)

my latest goodies...

still waiting on some 45 degree 19mm to 15mm reducers to come and a couple other bits, as the can has 15mm outlets, biggest i could find. its quality though, and only £25, its all the pipes and joiners that all add up though

big thanks to westle and his catch can thread! gave me abit more confidence to actually do it.

Venting it to atmosphere so ive got a breather filter on the way too. Hope your right about there being no smells.
I think I might fit it to the side of the battery casing, don't want to move that fuse box at the back tbh as I want to put the n249 in there. Not sure though, prob look better tucked away at the back, but having it at the front its easy to drain.

One more thing too, should I pack it out with wire wool?

I love seeing new goodies waiting to be fitted, keep up the good work Karl (making us jealous)

Yeh make one westle. I only really did this to put my bush work on as I'd never seen anyone put the work involved up. It's handy just putting it all here though.

Hardly jealous, my thread is a boring one as it doesn't have a turbo the size of a small car lol.
Ive got plenty of work to do though, all in good time
Not at all because it all adds to the forum and members get ideas,I saw one a while back cleaning the sump which has no value in horsepower but helps the engines life...all good

making a trip to awesome today for alignment. hopefully get soime advise on my bizzare camber on the rear even though its not lowered. driving bumpy back roads fast and the rear is very lively over bumps, want to get it more planted.

on a more negative note, spending on the car is going to cease, i owe me and my girlfriend a holiday. apparently ive been spending too much on the car?!? is that even possible???

Karl do you think it could have anything to do with the wheels and spacers you have on that's effecting the camber?

I know the feeling. In June I have a holiday with the bird, my car insurance, a car service, a turbo refurb, and a 4 wheel alignment! I'll be broke.

no i cant see how it could have anything to do with that, i had noticed it with my old wheels, its just since fitting these ive been looking alot more lol. i reckon its down to bushes personally, that together with my car doesnt sit all that high for standard suspension compared to some ive seen.
powerflex for the rear end might sort it out, if not il give dave a bell and have some of his tie arms.
rear powerflex kit is £130, doesnt seem hard to do either. but, ive got to think about a holiday lol ...............i could do with one to be fair.

I'm running the standard -10mm springs and 15mm spacers and mine has similar negative camber at the back to yours. This is AFTER having 4 wheel alignment done at Awesome....it's worth noting that I don't experience uneven tyre wear at the rear either.....go figure?

thats interesting, and no uneven tire wear, you must go HARD round corners. well il see what they say, i dont want too much to upset the handling, based on what i've read -1 degree of camber on the back is about right for a good fast road setup. how did your car feel after having it done by them? im literally about to set off now

yeh they look awesome.

haha i've tried suggesting that mate, but its not a 'holiday holiday' no beach, no sun, no sea etc etc.

Ok then just treat yourself to the Ring ;)

I've found that my car turns in so much better with the slight camber I have on the rear. I quite like it but I wont like forking out for new 18" tyres if they where out.

I too haven't noticed any rear tyre wear....... yet.

The handling was much improved but that could be down to the fact the fronts were way out. I've still got the print out so I'll get it posted up to compare with the results of yours. Good luck!

the way im looking at it is, more camber - less contact patch, even on hard cornering too much camber won't have the whole 225 tire in contact. so i think -1 degree should give a good say 80% contact most of the time, then hard cornering should give 100% contact for optimum grip. less camber should = less twitchyness over bumpy roads too, something i think ive got as only half the tire is on the road and bumps are soaking up through less rubber.
to put it into perspective, some of the nobbles on the tires are still there on the outside of the rear, and i've thrown it around good style

Fronts were way out on toe, so now they're right. The rears are shocking. The fella said that rebushing it might sort it a tiny amount but to correct it fully il need adjustable tie bars. He did say it was common they have a lot of camber.

But, front feels a lot better now.
Il upload my print out when I get home.
