Just picked up my S3 after 10 long days of waiting!

Sooo happy with it, drives like a brand new car.

Anyway, here are some pics, and I'll be updating the thread as I progress with the car.

I had the grill sprayed the same colour as the car, that's been my first modification so to speak. More to come tomorrow......

Just had a looksy through the recent history...

It had a new water pump, cam belt and tensioner @ 43k
New alternator, belt and tensioner @ 51k
New suspension mounts and bearings @ 53k
New standard front springs @ 54k
And it had a full service and valet today...

Got the dyno plot from AmD which shows 270bhp / 283lb ft, pretty happy with those dyno lottery results!

Looks like it was well worth the wait Ryan, did you blow your budget or manage to keep under it its worth the extra looking at that service and spec, you got a gold one there.

I know not many would be this honest, but I'm not planning on selling it... EVER!

I paid £7,250 for it in the end. The guy had people calling him offering £8k!!! Think I got a steal, especially with the history!

I had a play with the misses in the 135i (306bhp) on the way home. The S3 was a fraction slower, really chuffed with this little pocket rocket, and roundabouts.... HELLO! Haha :racer:

smart looking purchase their, i took off the grill last week before i decided weather i liked it or not, its a defo yes for me.
Black S3s all the way!!!!

Definitely a steal for that price and condition/spec il be keeping an eye out for your threads, will be an interesting build if you go with what you have got planned.

Airfilter is now on, going out for a drive shortly. Took about 30 mins to do, first mod done by my own hands!

I'm off to Audi to get some new screws for the battery cover and engine cover. All 4 are pretty much ******...

What filter you got?

I bought new scres recently too as mine were all rounded. They're a couple of squid each.

I fitted a Nuespeed kit with heatshield.

It also came with a smaller filter/breather. I haven't fitted this since I assume it's a breather for an aftermarket CVS? It fits at the bottom of the heatshield below the airfilter.

Cheers Dave. I thought I'd better ask just in case! The filter has a nice low down burble, nothing chav, just nice. Not sure if it's made any difference performance wise, but I'm happy.

I'm pondering what to go for next, either custom made full 3" decat exhaust (planning for the future), or big brakes?

Anyhow, after driving around aimlessly, getting to know the car, I can report back that I'm extremely happy!

To be fair, I live in Norwich for 4 years and Cambridge for 4 years with the RAF, I've only recently moved back cos I'm leaving the RAF soon.

So, after nearly 2 weeks of ownership, I can report back that I'm extremely happy with the car!

I'm looking at getting some H&R springs fitted to my new OEM dampers along with some Forge adjustable tie bars.

Only niggles (if you can call them that), is that the car doesn't idle 100%, it fluctuates by about 100rpm sometimes, and also when flooring it and changing gear, it revs a little bit higher when depressing the clutch?

Any ideas guys?

Other than that, it's amazing, and the Bose stereo is immense!

Cheers,

Ryan

To eliminate the idle issue you can try cleaning your MAF and TB with some carb cleaner.

The rev change between gears will undoubtedly be the clutch pedal switch (comon problem), order a new one from the stealers for around £15, 10 mins to change.

There's a recent thread on the clutch switch issue but they've changed the design, from what I can remember it doesn't have the ratchet any longer. It took a couple of fits of it to get it to register in VCDS. I'd recommend monitoring block 066 after fitting and see if it registers a change when pressing the clutch, if not refit and try again.

Mine had a bad idle but I'm not sure how I fixed it as I replaced: plugs, maf, coils (went to bolt downs), air filter and serviced it. I also cleaned and reset the TB in VCDS. It's steady as a rock now, hot or cold.

Changed the clutch switch on my car and it never fully solved the over revving issue, changed the temp sender and believe it or not it sorted the problem straight out.

Also nice car ryan, looks a minter.

Yeah they've changed the design of the clutch switch and brake switch as I bought both a few months ago. It's just a simple replacement now with no fiddling of the piston on the switch to get it right.

looks a lovely car!!

love the black grill, my next mod hopefully!!!

looks really good, cant wait if all your plans fall into place, gonna be a good on to watch!

Cheers gents! Going to get the clutch switch fitted on Monday along with the coil packs...

Love this forum ;)

Not sure if you know about the Audi recall on Coil Packs? Book in with your local dealer and if your car qualifies (no reason why not unless previous owner took it there already) they'll replace them for FREEEEEEEEEEEEE! :)

Your car looks really mint. With hindsight I should have spent more and got one like yours as I've already spent more than yours cost tarting it up.

Are you going to get any interior pics up?

If you're interested in saving some money I'm highly likely to be reverting back to my standard springs and taking off my H&R springs I had fitted last week as soon as I can afford to get them changed. Their just too firm for my old man driving style!!! Handles great mind you. PM me if interested.

Did you spray your grill yourself? Was it just the chrome surround you sprayed or the whole grill? I'm starting to like the idea of painting mine, it seems to be the in thing these days.

Evening chaps.

Got my new clutch pedal switch from Audi today, fitted it but it still revs between flat out gear changes.

Do I need to get someone with VCDS to check if its registered?

Doing to dogbone bush this weekend, haven't got a torque wrench though. Guna go on feel...

Cheers,

Ryan
