carnt wait to get this mod which replaces the grey hard boost pipe, a high quality polished non resenated pipe from forge, apparently sounds awesome and looks brilliant polished without the infamous dent. ive hand polished inlet manifold so polished pipe will look good, redlines TT has the mod and they say it makes the car sound fantastic. forge had teething problems to start bur has now been sorted and will be available very soon, AWESOME in manchester have ordered them for stock at 71 pounds plus vat which is a very good price and a lot of mod for the buck, they will be available from awesome from the end of next week. im a thicko so if anyone could post pic off forge site of the pipe would be appreciated cheers. code is fm225bhp, under audi S3.

There ya go mate

its just a pipe. waste of money. mine is as polished as that

Forge says it "this polished alloy non-resonated boost hard pipe replaces the turbo resonated turbo outlet pipe ( runs from the turbo down the left hand side of the engine) on the 1.8T 225 hp engines as found in the Audi TT S3 225 hp (8N), SEAT Leon Cupra R. (uses original mounting brackets)
The removal of the noise reasonator allows unobstructed flow on the discharge or boost side of the turbo. We have also modified the “dent” in the underside of the pipe that allows it to clear the cam cover and made it as shallow as possible, to just allow the pipe to fit, but not overdone as to impede airflow. These combined modifications give quicker spool up of the turbo and effectively reduces the load placed upon it."

So I can see it does have its uses. However i can still see better things to spend 85quid on! But with extensive modifications suppose it may be worth it to quicken turbo spool.

EDIT: **** SPELLING!

I'll stick to my de-baffled matte black charge pipe that hasn't cost me anything ;)

Seriously though you really wont notice much difference for your £70+

Westle: Could you elabourate on how long it took / plenty of messing swearing at it or was it an easy-ish job? Just take a carefull chisel to it + chip away at it once removed?

Thanks

Joe

Huge ball ache Joe. I used a dremmel to cut a few slots into the baffles to weaken them then I set about it with pliers, chisel and hammer, and a massive crowbar. Took about 30-40 mins to get it all out. I did before and after VCDS logs and it made no difference to airflow and didn't really sound that much louder!

Might just leave it alone then. Hate to punch a whole threw it rendering it completely useless.

Things like that ALWAYS happen to me lol

Thanks matey :music:

Just to clarify i do realize what forge are saying may be slightly true but will make hardly any difference. Just depends how much money you have to waste i suppose.

i really like this mod and when they are in stock im getting one, my opinion they look great and apparently sound very good, i think their very cheap at 71 plus vat.

I personally think what Forge have said about the part is true and makes sense, however I dont think it will make any noticeable performance increases. May make some increases but probably not enough to notice. Should sound good though.

I painted our cam cover today, cost a fiver and easily adds as many bhp as those forge pipes.

I concur.... this kind of part fits in with a lot of the other stuff Forge sell and there is no doubt a lot of demand for them... I see quite a few 'blinged' SEAT's and this is the sorta thing that is right up thier street...

Performance wise there may be little to shout about but then this is the case for a lot of the more 'dress' items available... doesn't stop peeps buying them...

I still use the original charge pipe on my S3 with no detrimental effect (as does Welly) but if you are 'dressing' your engine bay then its a nice addition (if thats yer bag...)

<tuffty/>

Klappe, I hope you did the gasket too. Oh and do the inlet mani too like mush said ;)

Of cause, including the center gasket for the lead holes.

My job for tomorrow is the inlet and to dress the hoses/have a clean up.

Its Jarrod/Jardo btw, are you called Mark or am I thinking of someone else?

I think dave has his one polished who he replaced with someone on here, I took mine off to have it polished but changed my mind as I thought the ciramic coatting does a really good job at limitting heat transfere

You are thinking of someone else mate. My name's Neil.

Well jardo, get some more pics up later ;)

No pics for you! Instead of cleaning the car I spent all afternoon trolling the pubs with my girlfriend and her parents, and I am ****** as a fart.

Maybe tomorrow If yoh are lucky :)
