Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd start an amateur detailing thread for us folks who look at all these pro threads with envy. General idea is to post up some pics of your amateur handy work. If you feel like it you could include what products you used etc. Or just whore some pics of your car! lol.

Here's my bank holiday Monday mornings work...

Please excuse my terrible iphone pics.

I used AG shampoo, SRP, EGP and Alloy Wheel Seal.

Wouldn't say I was a pro but like to think I'm pretty good at what I do but no where near on a pro scale.

couple of jobs i've done:

Main products I use are, Autosmart, Meguiars, menzerna, autoglym, poorboys, dodojuice.

Lol. Mmm Stella.

Good work Jack. The 430 looks great. Did you get a test drive?

well darren i can tell you my paint on my 91k audi is in better condition than my bosses £240k ferrari 458 italia up close its a shocker really bad paint on it and its only done 1250 miles LMFAO

Got to take the Ferrari from the wash bay round the unit and then into the unit lol, not far but better than nothing.

Drmole-wasn't in for a correction, paintowork was clayed, polished with SRP and waxed with autoglym HD(owner provided the wax) to be fair though the paint was in great shape with next to no swirls on it, its a very cared for car, along with his daily drivers of a range rover and a Aston db7.

got a few quid then eh lol

Oh yeah lol, helicoptor aswell.

Didn't pay for the clean up on the 430 either. Was done as a favour for a charity event it was in.

Do any of you lot use AG for the wash, i find that it tends to strip the wax off!!!

Yeah I use AG shampoo Fossie. Don't really know if it strips wax. I only have the AG Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection and it seems good to me.

Been tempted to get the Werkstat Acrylic Kit off the polished bliss website and try that. Anyone used it?

I use it, never found it to strip wax off.

Maybe someone has replaced your AG shampoo with fairy liquid?!:keule:

Its probably cause i fill half a bucket with it - ner i was told this when i went to a detailing place - probs trying to sell me stuff lol

AG shampoo souldnt normaly strip wax as far as i kno i use zymol wash smells lush and rinses nice too and the highley concentrated means it last ages good value for money

AG Shampoo is highly recommended but people dislike it because it makes very little suds so you get the impression the shampoo is not working well, when in actual fact its very good.

This does annoy me though i like to see suds on the car LOL, i to recently moved over as of yesterday to Zymol auto wash and initial impressions i love it!

I wash my car weekly without dedication so a good shampoo for a decent price is important. I have used more high end shampoos like dodo supernatural in the past but they are pricey for a weekly wash.
