Just weighted my original 18 inch S3 wheels with winter tyres. Weight was 23 kilo exactly. I weighted my Speedlines without tyres and they weighted 15.3 KG. What would a 225/35/19 tyre wight? I think my 19's aren't heavier than my original wheels. That was where I was worried about but for now the weight is fine for me :D

Fuzion any picture you have posted has been awesome! Keep them coming lol

thanks mate.. but much nicer cars on here than mine thats for sure! trying to decide on a black grill or not right now to be honest lol

But update from Easter Break was.. some Easter Brakes

fuzion, i'm trying to decide on a black grill or not at the moment too.
I think you for sure as it will match your rims.
Perhaps once I am lowered, I can pull off the black grill, but while I am standard, I'm not sure how it will look.

its not just the weight issue, although that does contribute, i think from what ive read, decent 19' rubber is about 11-12kg so thats an increase of around 5kg per corner, and when you apply the rule of thumb about unsprung weight, that works out to about the same as having an 80kg person in the car. which is why im wanting lightweight wheels, that way i should be able to loose around 5kg per corner on 18' wheels. the other issue is with 19s you need to run stretched rubber, which i admit looks good, but any stretch compromises the handling of the car, and i dont hang about when i drive and at least once a week drive the car very very hard

sorry if that got all a bit geeky sounding, but thats the catch-22 situation i find myself in.... performance vs looks and im still torn between them!

black grill on sprint blue just works no matter what colour your wheels are in my opinion both you and fuzion

ive been feeding my self off these pictures from page one and all i have to say is WOW!!!!
lovely cars.

New pics of the rear lowered. It's by no means clean, I know. If I'm honest, I'll probably change out the front springs in time to VW Racing ones too for piece of mind and it'll be bang on for me. :yum:
