epic stress relief
Looks like you missed a bit to me - LOL
Both a bit skinny for my taste, so did the best man get the chief bridesmaid at the shindig ?

Pleased to see the conversation is slightly more highbrow than yesterday!

The height of the brow changes on an hourly basis.

For any one that cares.
Picked the 206 up today and we can't find any thing wrong with it.
The knock is there but no sign of any thing warn out, knocking or beable to make that noise.
The exhaust is fine, no leaks, no knocks and nothing is warn out.
God knows what it is.
Its a fault that will have to be fixed when it really breaks.

The Audi is in next to find out if the axle is bent or not.

Well at least the Pug hasnt got anything seriosly wrong with it, or they would have spotted it. Just irritating i guess.

Well I have a boost leak :crying: I know from where I can take a picture of it and feel the o-ring seal - but can't get to it without the car up on a lift or ramp.

The first boost hose connection onto the turbo has popped, pain in the **** where it is, because I can't get my hand down to it between the bulkhead and intake pipe at the back of the engine - talk about frustrating. :aggressive:

Paul

Well, yesterday and today have been ****.

Car failed the MOT on brakes - Master Cylinder.

Then decided that it wanted to be a train by puffing out lots of oil smoke on the way home.

Turns out either one of the new stem seal, or a valve guide has gone south. I've only just put the ******* back together!

Then found out this morning that I didn't get a job I thought I was pretty much sweet for.

****** right off.com.

Not good, feel for you there mate - kind of puts my boost leak in perspective.

Let's hope your numbers came up last night.

Paul

Mate! bad times, I know you were looking forward to driving it every day.

hopefully this will make you feel better

Much more predictable with the fuse pulled though!

Paul, Its annoying as hell when you can see the fault but you need ramps or tools that you don't have. on the plus side, you know where the fault is.

Welly, Thats another HG needed then?
I've also nick named the knock on the pug after you. Its now called the Welly knock.

Thats a good thing, nothing worse than an unpredictable car.

Yeah, another HG for the pile. This one being close to the lowest mileage at about 200 miles.

The Welly Knock. Better than the Wellyphant I guess. :lmfao:

Quiet in here today :(

Just been watching the last 20 minutes of F1 Practice 2 on the BBC website (in my lunch break).

Working out a plan to get under the car this weekend, I have an old set of ramps - but my car is too low, I also have a scaffold plank and so am going to cut it in half and use some coach bolts to use the plank to extend the ramp bit so that it is less steep.

Hopefully that will get me under the car and able to get to the boost pipe.

Paul

I'm here! you just reminded me I could watch the practises online, My cars going to bills for hybridness etc. Cant wait!

I got a 4 day week, which is way to long cause friday i'm spending the day riding motor bikes. :)
Wheeldon Off Road Motorcycle Adventure Centre Using Suzuki Motorcycles - Totnes, Devon

Nah I've been in since 8:45 but it took me until 9:30 to get bored lol.

Its my younger brothers blue 998cc 5 year old micra. Hub caps - the works! the s3 is going to feel even more awesome when its back from Bills.

Never been much into motorbikes but it looks fun!

How long you going to be with out the A3 for?

I should hear back about a house today that I looked at over the weekend.
I should get my phone back tomorrow.
Woo-Hoo, it could be a good week.
Be even better if i was not in work.

Well I've only just managed to check out this thread. Had to skive put of the office for an hour this morning to pop to TPS, so I now have the 3 seals required (2 o-rings and a gasket) to remove and clean up my EGR as it may be that sticking open and bleeding boost. Up side was that I bumped into a guy I know from when I had my Mark IV Golf and he got me extra discount.

So EGR comes off as soon as I get home, I just hope that sorts my issue. I do at least now have a set of modified ramps (lengthened by bolting on a scaffold plank cut in half) that I can get the car up in the air at the front on :rockwoot: that was a couple of hours work Friday Evening.

Might have it back by Sunday, which would be perfect, but theres alot to do, Bills making and Exhaust mani, all the new bits have to go on, the decat has to be joined up to the standard cat back, the water meth has to be installed in the boot and then piping run to the front and then it's got to be mapped.

Sounds like it could be a good week, I just hope it doesnt drag on, I'm like a child at Christmas at the mo, apart from I know what my present is and I know its awesome. lol.

Hmm nice wheels - at least you have transport though :sm4:

I took the Mrs's MX-5 to TPS - was quite nice to drive a manual again, great chassis on her MX-5 I just have to fold myself into the drivers seat.

Well after three hours work last night - it looks like the car is fixed and the Turbo clean appears to have fixed the over boost issue too, as what ever I tried last night I couldn't get it to pop into limp mode.

Mind Diesels and soot - yuck - but even thrashing it on the Motorway last night I still only managed to get it down to 41MPG and we are talking redlining it through the gears.

Feels good when you fix things yourself. :yahoo:

Paul

Well done mate, if I thrash mine I get 5 mpg come up

Ouch I couldn't even to managed to get my old Mark IV GTi down that low - that has got to hurt with fuel prices as high as it is.

Mind after 30 minutes cleaning soot out of the EGR - going back to petrol did seem appealing - LOL

Paul

I generally tend to stay away from my range display that can decrease by half!
