Guys, I have a 2.0tdi 140 and when the car is sat idling the car pulses like a gust of wind hitting it, does it every now and then but doesn't juddering on shut down or anything?

Does anyone else have this issue or know what it is?

If its the DMF should it change/stop juddering dependent on if the clutch is dipped or not?

Mine is auto? I have spoken to Audi who said it might be a fuel contamination / Failing Injector / Misfire.

Its still on Warrenty so I have it booked in with them for 9th March, tried to blag a 3.0 tdi A5 as a coutesy car but they dont have any.

Poo!

My 170 tdi used to do this, I thought it maybe was worn engine mounts or similar.
Funnily enough it no longer does it since the injectors failed and were replaced.

Thing is, I'm having it mapped on 19th March so don't want to have that done, have all sorts of problems and an invalid warranty.

I'll see what Audi say but tbh they should find it and and fix it. Don't know about your guys experiences but my dealership have so far been very good.

Dual Mass Flywheel,Its what ive just had changed along with the clutch.

Now then old lad, I cant see Audi wanting to shell out for that sorting, its not that bad tbh i just dont want it getting worse when i dont have warrenty.

When you back?

mine's getting sorted at the moment, had a gearbox seal leak and mentioned the judder to them and the fact it could be a flywheel issue. Once they'd taken the gearbox out they noticed it had a bit of play so am just waiting for the nod from the warranty company (which hopefully doesn't sound an issue).

Good luck with it mate, We all know what insurance/warrenty companies are like. mine is a multitronic if it makes any difference?

Ah good, sounds like your in same boat as me. im hoping Audi will do it on there extended warrenty?

Im back tomorrow.looking forward to seeing your mods.

Nice one, will have to Monday though, at Boxing at Oceana all day tomorrow, car looks ace sat on it's ****!

good news, they've authorised the repairs, it was a leaking pipe/seal that went into the gearbox and they're doing the DMF as well :)

Hoping to get it back today/tomorrow and get some power back under my right foot :)

Sweet. I'm taking mine in tomorrow so they can start work on Thursday, I hope I have it back for the weekend. Don't want a crummy standard A3 they'll give me!

I'm getting mine back this aft, they couldn't find an issue with it apparently?

We'll see!

Well, now have another issue, feels like a misfire or something.

Went on WOT in 2nd and 3rd to overtake driving miss daisy, and got a lot of popping noise in both gears, either a misfire or too rich giving too much fuel into the exhaust?

Doesn't do it all the time but does feel a little odd in idle still, get the odd slight judder...have to take it back now and take the technician out on a test drive...

If it was a misfire you should feel a loss of power and probably a lumpy idle? Too rich and it should be down to Revo to remap it slightly, not sure Audi will adjust it for you nor do I think they could if they wanted to? Bit of a strange one.

Think it must be the first, as was fine before it went into Audi, but the didn't touch the engine...

It felt as if when it popped it lost power for that instant, and does have a bit of a lumpy idle. Doesn't feel like it does it all the time though, and haven't felt it when it driving under normal conditions...

Get Audi to check your injectors, spark plugs and any possible blockage in fuel / air system, might just be a failing spark plug?

sods law, took the technician out for a spin, and no popping what so ever, they did a diagnostics and nothing showed up..think it might be a random accorance related to the remap but can't be sure.

He did however recognise that the car was very quick :)

Nice and typical! If diagnostics didn't show anything g then it's probably hardware., I'm still thinking dodgy spark plug!

well, took it back and they noticed the judder, had it booked in and they found it was the spark plugs. Replaced them all and issue sorted :)

Wanted to charge me £105 as spark plugs are servicable items and they can't claim them back, but went back to where I got it from as only had it 3 months, and with them only due to be replaced at 60k miles, and only 39k on the clock, I wasn't best pleased..they are refunding me the cost :)

But happy now as have a new DMFW, new clutch and a new set of plugs :) should do me for a while ;)

I had my Dmfw changed in feb this year. Started to judder again now

Sounds like you def got a bad un mate, feel bad for you cos I know how i feel when its something small like a rattling door handle never mind hardly being able to drive it from being at Audi, and to make it worse they give you a sh*tty A1, if i wanted an A1 i wouldn't of bought a big comfy G mobile HA HA HA! rant over!

Nice, my local Audi always offer me an A3 or an A1, my mate however always gets an A6?

I asked for a B8 or an A5 and they said they didn't use them as courtesy cars BOO!

hi im a newbi and i have a 2005 Audi A4 2.0 TDI S Line and it judders in idle. i had the clutch and DMF changed a month a go and this didnt make any difference. what can i be? thanks

I just read on another forum that having the wrong engine oil in 2.0 tdi can make it misfire when idling - anyone else heard of this ?

Does sound a bit odd
