Up nice and early on a saturday looking at the car thinking what improvements i could make with limited funds, as im going on holiday in a couple of weeks. Think the chrome wing mirror's look awesome on the audi's, so been looking around on the internet. There quite expensive to buy a pair but i have spotted this vinyl for cars that offers a 3 year warranty but designed to last for 5 for $17 us dollars on a site. Now there's some bloke selling the same product for £50 quid on fleebay.

I remember trying to tint my old vw golf mk2 windows back in the day and it looked ***** lol. As well as a few mates having failed attempts with the sun visor vinyls. What's people's thoughts on this??.

Personally I wouldn't wrap my mirrors chrome I think if you were to wrap them you should do them carbon fibre or brushed aluminium or maybe spray them matt black!

Im gonna give this a go soon, I want matt black! I've never vinyl wrapped before so i'll spend a while practising before i go near the car lol

There is a brushed aluminium one that i spotted that could look ok, matt black against my black car prob wouldn't look to good though. Same boat as you Tyrrell just thinking it may look abit cheap and nasty, cause my past experience with that vinyl years ago wernt to good.

Vinyl needs to be applied with care to get it looking nice. Always cut it a bit bigger than you think you need and use a heat gun to get plenty of heat into it!.

I've done a few bits on my car but not done the mirrors yet.

Why don't you just get some InPro chrome wing mirrors? I think I paid £68 or something similar delivered, prices may be a few quid more these days with the vat increase, but it's better than a potential bodge DIY job.

Chrome vynl does not stretch or like bending so would look crap!
And also reflective vynl is the same all other types are ok gentle
Warm stretch and and all will look good
I have impro chrome caps on my s3 and look exactly the same as
originals and was only £65 good luck it's all trial n error

Not quite, the InPro ones are proper chrome finished, and mega shiney. The OEM ones are polished aluminium, and weigh twice as much. I should know, since I have a set of both.

just get chrome mirror caps if yopur on a budget like u have look awseome n cost 25 eby vcheck my progress thread for pics
