Hey guys,

My clutch is absolutely fine and I wasn't looking for a price to replace it... But I came across the servicing cost in general from Audi ... and blimey they're very competitive considering it's a stealer! £849 for the clutch change (presuming it includes the part!) seems pretty good considering - or is it me?! I never take my car to the stealers normally...

Have a butch:

Affordable servicing < Servicing with Audi < Owners area < Audi UK

The funny thing is some of their serving costs are even cheaper than VW's which I wouldn't have expected. (brake fluid change for example) Although saying that... front wiper blades... £39 from Audi?! Epic fail LOL you can get some new style bosch Aero Flat ones for £20 delivered from Ebay and have £19 change!

Hope that helps anyone out whilst shopping for clutch quotes...

PS I no don't work for Audi! ;)

Assuming the £849 does not include a new flywheel and that the LuK clutch (OEM manufacturer) costs around £100 from GSF then most of that price is labour... which can be got cheaper from an independent...

Up to the individual of course but I can think of better ways to spend that kinda money...

Can anyone confirm that whether or not it includes flywheel? I'm sure it doesn't, or it'd be twice that probably with Audi!

Independant clutch specialists is where it's at, labour is £250-300 and then plus parts. It cost me around £750 to source a new gearbox, supply my own clutch and have it all swopped over, so Audi wanting £849 just for the clutch seems expensive to me.

i paid £850 for clutch, dmfw, wheel alignment and labour at a vag specialist in Exeter.
The best quote other than this one was £900.....
People seem to think i could have got it cheaper, however in reality not being able to get trade price on items such as the fly wheel and having to pay someone the full labour rate i think you'd struggle to get it for under £750 at most places.
I wouldnt take it to audi though, its quite rare that you hear good things about the stealers....
