The TQS Owners thread

but 8p's look like frickin company cars! lol get some facelift headlights/tail lights and lower it!

oh and paul, the ally pipe thats attatched to the maf is part of the carbonio, it goes onto the tip yeah.

Interesting thread as I have the Quattro so will be keeping my eye on this for tips.

Quattro1 what BHP do have if you don't mind me asking with the mods you have?

Cheers.

Antnee, PM this guy: mike_plymouth as I know he was selling some facelift rears, they make a massive difference to how the car looks, and they're not massively expensive. Definitely a worth while mod

Totally standard at the moment mate :) Had the car just about 4 weeks now and love it!!!

Not at the moment... Going to be doing an oil/filter change later then give it a good clean and polish so shall snap a few pics then and post them up here if you like?

Sounds good, mines in serious need of a clean as well, have you got any plans for it?

Just looking again your engine bay - Quattro1, and I've got the plastic battery cover, what's going on with yours?

Going to Halfrauds inabit, going to buy that Maguires NXT car shampoo and a mit, that will do for now, see how it looks after that. And yeah to make it as quick as possible lol... so all the usual mods but would like a ko4 turbo on it at some point :)

Going to get the appearence sorted first with some coilovers then shall move on to engine tuning.

K03's Hybrid is an easier mod then the Ko4 mate, which is a long term plan for me as well. What coilies are you looking at?

Hybrid gets sent away to a company who effectively fit the k04 internals into the smaller K03s body, and with the supporting mods these will push out around 270-280bhp (maybe slightly more)

That looks a pretty decent price for those mate, going for low + slow look or performance stance?

Got my 312mm S3 carriers, braided goodrich lines and some DS2500's from 'Westle' on here, and ordered some discs from ECP, so will get those fitted and post up if they're any better. £190 for all the bits isn't too bad. I personally think the A3 brakes are crap, so these have to be an improvement.

not too sure on the battery cover thing? both of my a3's have had these nylon covers on them, velcros up all around the sides and that so doesnt look fugly! lol

newt, im not sure mate i havent had it on a dyno, not going to until ive got my downpipe and decat/sports cat sorted but id be hoping or 230 which is the absolute most you can get from a ko3s. its humiliated plenty of scoobies and a few s3's as it is though!

Nice to see our own thread now I'll be keepin an eye on this one and if anyone has any questions on the tqs I'm happy to help!

I wouldn't mind knowing how you got a 3'' downpipe on to a ko3s turbo, Don? Also, what forge intercooler have you got mate?

Just re read your post and worked out how you got a 3'' downpipe to fit... What bhp are you getting out of your GT2860?

Well it's a 325 kit but has been RR on a Ko3s golf at 357bhp !!! I've not had mine on the rollers yet!

i can only say one thing about your car ANIMAL
that thing shifts like there is no tomorrow i love it

how many miles have you had yours done now don? only asking because of the internals your running, would be very tempted to just bang a BT on mine and get the rods done at a later date to save myself the best part of a grand!! been snooping around the golf forums and theres literally dozens of people on there running BT's on standard internals, they all claim 350bhp is the limit to the standard rods

as always mate, massive respect for your motor

Cheers lads! I've had the kit on for nearly 2 years and covered around 10k and I drive it hard every time I'm in it. But I always let her warm up first and cool down last thing.

The forge front mount came as a whole kit from backdraft but I do know they supply all the bits separately.

That's interesting about the rods, but what I was saying is that I was told that the golf forge fmic doesn't fit, don't know why, and neither does the s3 one, due to the throttle body being on a different side.

the golf one doesnt fit because the slam pannel assembly is totally different, the golf FMIC has the outlet and inlet both on the same side of the cooler like in the pic below, not possible to fit that on the a3.

as you said throttle body assembly stops the s3 one from fitting, so just get one of the kits ive got, then buy a larger intercooler when you come to hybrid as im planning on doing sooner or later

I will probably be getting one of the toyosports ones, but I was just wondering what forge fmic Don had.

Just get a universal single pass, and make up your own piping. The Mk3 Ibiza's have a pipe which comes out of the turbo and across the top of the engine, which you could use and then make pipework up for the battery side of the car. Thats what I was planning to do

Sounds like a bit of a ball ache to be honest, think it might be easier just to get a turborevs/toyosports one. If poss, I'd like the pipework as hidden as it can be, but if it had to go over the top then so be it.

Unless you make the pipework yourself I think the only option is to go over the engine because no companies make kits that hide the pipes, it doesnt look bad in person to be honest, pics seem to make it look tacky lol

You could always buy a s3/Leon/tt/Ibiza inlet manifold and throttle body which would mean you could fit an s3 intercooler kit

Have you got a pic with the cover on, or did you have to sacrifice that?

Sorry about the deleyed reply lads... been busy with work and stuff.

Reesy cheers for that mate, I shall be looking to get mine hybrid in the future... Got to get all the other stuff done first though, exhaust, decat, air filter bigger tip and an intercooler.

Going for the low and slow look I think until it has more power then I'll have to get it back up a bit as I don't want to be taking my sump out at speed lol.

Quattro1 Nice!!! Can't wait till mine is all done, will be a while yet though before it gets anywhere near your BHP.

Changed the oil and that the other day. WoW what a car, it's like a rocket now and sticks to the road like glue... can't belive how much you can chuck these things around!!! Absolutly love it, best car I ever brought :D

Don... very nice car dude :L

Cheers.

Does anyone else find their quattro's lean a fair bit in the corners? Mines on Apex springs so the ride is a bit harsh combined with the 235/35 tyres. I had a friend following me yesterday and he said my car looked like it was all over the place, so Im starting to think the shocks are past their best?

yeah mine leans alot too! im on 205/40/17's and only really noticed it after having them put on! ive got coilovers so i dont think its totally down to the suspension setup as its set pretty low/stiff

reesyboy i havent got a pic with the cover on, i only had it on for a few days then replaced all of the coils and it just hasnt ever gone back on since lol, seriously considering getting one of them carbon forge jobbys! think it'l go nice with the carbon intake

I'll be at ace cafe this Tuesday 26th cars all waxed and looking fresh hope to see some of you there!!!

I don't find mine leans too bad, although I haven't really seen it from outside as I don't let anyone else drive it.

Quattro1 - I too am looking into one of those carbon forge ones, but I think that £200ish could be spent on performance/reliability mods or V power...

Suspension is getting canceled gonna get remap and silicone tip costs less and my suspension i found out is better then the coilovers i wanted had a go in my m8s a3 and he has the ap coilovers went for a blast round delemere forest yesterday and it handles well i dont had a go in mine which has s3 suspension and its far better so will leave the suspension as it is and get some more power!
