S3 PE1820 big turbo build

Anyway, back on the subject, as of yesterday Bumble is up at Bill's.

Got my mate to tow it off my drive (the smell of burning clutch in his van was epic) and then up to Stonehouse.

Annoyingly, I didn't take pictures of the pump, either fitted or unfitted annoyingly - I will do when I see it next.

I've never specifically measured the pump, but i've measured other circuits in the car. The headlamps for instance are wired with 1.5mm cable draw less than 5A and manage to drop nearly a volt between the battery and the bulb.

The standard wiring for the pump is also 1.5mm in size and protected by a 15A fuse.

The datasheet for an 044 indicates its maximum draw is 15.5A, however this is likely to be just before the lockout pressure, rather than 3 bar.

Some graphs:

Both of these suggest at 3 bar the pump will draw around 10A, and once under 1.5 bar of boost the draw will increase by an amp or so.

The OEM pump will probably draw slightly less, lets say 7A.

So your suggesting that in wellys case, drawing 17-18A thru a 15A fuse and wiring designed to run 7A's worth of standard pump isnt going to cause any voltage drop?

And in your case, 2x044 and a intank probably drawing over 25A is again working perfectly thru the standard 15A fuse and 1.5mm wiring and your still getting a nice healthy 14v at the pump...?

again, your theoretical posts, without actual practical experience of having done it...
IF there was a voltage drop for the same Power consumption the currect draw would increase... and if so the std fuse would of course pop.
They dont..
simple as.

now I wont respond to your never ending winging on why things wont work from all your internet reading you clearly do.

The example of 2 x 044's feeding off a single in tank pump was to ably demonstrate how WRONG you are ref an intank pump starving the inline one.. Go figure

Firstly, :slap:.

What ya left the badger to do

As it stands, and as far as I'm aware, she needs a downpipe making to fit the PE and mate up to the Miltek system.

And lastly, the fuel pump needs wiring in, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue, and I think Tuffty is going to lend a hand to me as he has done it on an S3 build before.

After that, it should be a case of firing her up and keeping the fingers crossed.... lol

Sorry Mr welly...
Make sure he secures the connectors this time......... He he he.

Lol the only new bits are the cat back and the WMI kit :moa:

Dane I think i've just found a picture of you removing bits from Welly and Tuffty's cars ;)

Lol I like to think of it as ASN's love child as opposed to ASN's Frakenstien.

Lol.
He might look ugly, but he might be really quick...

Lol I didnt realise it was from something real, I thought it was just some horrible photo.

The Goonies? I hear older people talking about it... but I haven't ever watched it.

23 as of 2 weekends ago, not much younger than Welly afaik

Yeh, i'm 25, and i've seen it! You cant call us "older people" :p

Was half expecting you to say you'd just turned 18 :p

That's it, I have The Goonies on my HDD at home - I am burning a copy to DVD for you.

Epic film.

EDIT: Have added Goonies Trailer from 1985 especially for Dane....
