Thanks Dane, Gives me something else to look at.

We got a power down, so one network is dead and only half of the other one is working. Going to be a ultra quiet day today.

I've finaly got through to Audi Parts, 2 days it took them to answer the phone.
I'm currently trying to locate my phone that HTC has in to repair and they says they moved repair centres and its being transfered to there.
well, is it fixed or what? I WANT MY PHONE BACK BITCHES!!!!
 
probably but if you've got enough time to sit through 180 pages of cars registering barely takes anytime in comparison lol.

In the office all alone today, bored! And feel like i have got the hump.No idea why though!
 
It is ****! Dont know why i feel ****** off though, maybe the fact im bored already and still got 6 1/2 hours of it left!

Same here bud, I want to get home, and the woman's flight is 3.5 hours delayed. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
 
Sounds like an over all **** day lads.
My boss just went home cause of power down. I booked half a day tomorrow and thats the only good thing.
OOO i did get a bit pack of Tic-Tacs for a £1. :)

Why is my freshly built XP machine not getting an IP address?
There is only 1 green solid light on the network port on the PC.
No locked out ports, No errors, No faults, Correct drivers.
The PC was image via the network.
 
turn it off and turn it back on again?

Failing that - get a hammer.
 
I'd start with a good know setup so using a Laptop or PC you know is working make sure that you get a lease on the cable that is plugged into the XP workstation.

I take it that a) the DHCP server is up and running b) that is has leases left to give and you haven't run out in your range.

Try setting it to a know spare fixed IP to confirm that the Hardware / Driver is all working OK.

There some things to check - try.

Yeah all fine.
Just gave it a static IP address and that works fine.
DHCP is fine and has loads left.
Going to bin the PC and get another one.
Dont really have time to mess about it with it for to long, so trying another one and come back to that one.

Watching film trailers might not help with the lack of time we have at the moment. lol

Still not fixed the audio issue on the smart board. lol
But, I've just ordered some B6 parts for my B5. :)

Winsock reset - Start>Run>cmd> netsh winsock reset

TCP IP Stack reset - Start>Run>cmd> netsh int ip reset reset.log.

Restart machine.

Tried failed.
PC been put in the bad courner. We will try again with it later.

Time to fix the elonex, HP and create an image for the Dell.

Over 400 PCs, 4 different makes and over 10 different models.
I hate this network!!

LOL, just found out via Bill that my motors is in Performance VW's Built not Bought this month... Would have been nice of them to tell me!

It's in there with the hybrid that I no longer have. :think:
 
The pub is very quiet today.

Sun is starting to shine through here on the River Hamble, still a bit hazy over to he Isle of Wight though.

All I have for today is a load of housekeeping tasks on the network.

Currently reviewing the priv1.edb exchange store offline defrag I ran last night.

Deliberately produced a second defragmented store on another drive so I can review before running the overwrite defrag tonight.

Ohhh the fun never stops.

Lucky you - just looking a the website for some backup software as I need to look at upgrading / replacing my real-time backup that drips over the WAN to a box at my house.

Looking at a product called BackupAssist.
