Needle Sweep on S3

Hi I have just purchased a S3 on a 07 plate, and I was wondering if the needle sweep could be activated on it?
I had a test drive in a 57 plate one and that did it as soon a you turned the key, the 57 plate one did have a white DIS, where as mine has red (not sure if this has any bearing on the matter)

unfortunately it does have a bearing lol
the needle sweep is only a feature on the white S3 cluster and no other (on the A3 chassis) which is a pain as it means a whole new cluster to get it

The white dis was retrofitted on a 57 plate tbh, I cant recall when it came in, but was around 07-08 onwards, need to get vcds on the car to see if its possible in coding.

I have the needle sweep on my 57 plate, and I have the red dis, not the White dis.

I'm pretty sure you can enable/disable it in vcds, but perhaps you need a 57 plate onwards to do it?

Same as Boycie's, pre 08 facelift S3's, needle sweep was out in 07 which were still red dis types.

S3, R8 are few works on & no its not an A3 thing, also comes with lap timing aswell.

An output test on Instrument Cluster gives you needle sweep, though not exactly what you're all after... Still cool though

Mate the helper pops up & pretty much tells you what to input.

Thanks, for the help guys. It went in to the dealer today to have iPod connection fitted, and I asked them if they could do it, was told by the dealer (Crewe Audi) that my software on the car is too old, and that it only come into place in 2009. Is there anyway of updating the software? What differences are there?

Well they're talking crap given reports by 07 owners on here already with on red dis, need to get vcds on there to see if possible to code.

If you have no adaptation channel there for it, then time to fit a white dis.

I found:

instrument > adaptation > group 20 "additional features"

I barely even notice the needle sweep anymore. It was very cool at first, though.

First time I saw it was on a Subaru Liberty (Legacy) about 7-8 years ago.
