How fast have you had your 1.8T?

What speed have you piloted your 1.8T up to?

The reason i ask is i hit just over an 'indicated' 150mph last night. (Remapped AGU with full Scorpion exhaust and decat)

The black track car (stage 2 ko3S) has hit 163 on a GPS at 6600rpm in 5th gear, well off the clock on the Kerpen autobahn comming back form the ring. it has around 230-235bhp

My grey daily, with Rtech stage 1, jetex, and turbo back exhaust runs out of puff completely at a speedo indicated 157, also not on UK roads. that's about 150 GPS speed, I think it was about 6200rpm. The car made 224bhp on Bills rollers.

mine seems to run out of puff at about 125-130 (on private road). Remapped AGU and panel filter. Not sure whats going on with mine? used to get to 140 pretty well?????

I agree dude! theres nowhere in england you can do high speeds safely. we just thought itd be rude not to havea go when we realised we were pn an unrestricted section of autobahn last easter though

Prawn, on a side note, how and where did you know to speed on the autobahn? I had no idea where I could and where it was allowed.

It wasn't hugely clear, so we made a few assumptions

Our satnav showed the speed limit for all the roads we were on, then sometimes, it'd show no speed limit at all on stretches of the autobahn, these areas of no limit displayed on the satnav also tied in nicely with speed limit signs with a big red line through them too, so we thought it was fairly safe to assume no limit applied on those stretches.

Plus, at 160mph, who's going to catch you

had the scirocco off the lock at 140 and it kept going. then sh@t myself. good old runways.

did a track day in a formula renault and they said it was doing 140mph when rev limiter kicked in which was far more often then i was happy with. something odd about doing 140 and thinking 'i could stick my arm out an touch the ground'

Cheers prawn, so just got to look out for signs with red line through them and compare that to sat nav. I didnt go very quick, then a merc woupd pass at 150ish, so I'd speed up and then everyoje was chillin at 85. Weird.


For the record when i hit my top speed I was caught. But that's a different story and can be fpund in the general section.

Got 125mph out of my 1.8 non turbo. But was rocking back and forward in my seat, cause i wanted to go faster because a beamer was up my ****, my car was dying and his had plenty to give
