My climate control wasn't very cold and felt a bit funny, so i got it serviced at an audi dealer on saturday, later after collecting the car i noticed the aircon now smelt nice, but wasn't cold at all, even worse than before! Was sweating like mad driving around on saturday even with it set to 16 and 'Lo'

Now before i ring them and moan about it i want to make sure i am not being silly and have somehow turned the aircon off or something. I have the 'econ' off which as far as i am aware is correct, is there anything else that should be obviously on or off?

Car is a 56 plate (i know something changed with the econ at some point, don't know when though)

Thanks

Presumably you have the 'Auto' button switched on and the led is lit ?

this happened to my 2005/54. turned out the compressor was broken or something. cost £600 to put right :(. not trying to scare you or anything but if it's been gassed then it's not looking good!

best of luck, let us know how you get on!

My 8p air-con has never been any good. when i bought the car it was 2.5 years old and i figured it needed a recharge so eventually i had a full air-con service inc disinfect etc when the car had its 35k mile major service. when i picked the car up the air-con was still useless and after asking about on AS.N i was told the 8p system was not up to much anyway so i forgot about it.....Fast forward too today and i thought, Summer is coming ( i live in a strange world of my own ) so put the car in the local Indy for a pressure and leak test on the air-con expecting to be forking out £500 for a compressor.. Turns out the system only had 100g or gas in it instead of 500g and now it blows freezing. Its never done that !!! the garage also put a dye in the gas to pin point any leaks but all seems well but he wants to check again in a week. Cost ? £90 inc vat. Audi charged me 2.5 times that and never got it to work.
I dont know how they survive to be honest.

****** you're making me wonder if Audi gassed mine up properly now!

Thanks for help, i double checked over everything to make sure it was set right, and it was. So i am now booked in again for them to have another look. I will not be happy if i need to shell out £600!

Bad news. Audi looked at it again yersturday, Air Con compressor needs to be replaced. Thats £800. They also found that the turbo over run valve needs replacing, which is another £150. I have had the car less than a month and am not very happy!

Did you buy it from a dealer or private? How old is your car?
