A4 Avant 3.0 TDI quattro Black Edition anyone?

That's good news Keef. Looks like the rate has gone up a little.

I don't think September would be an issue if you wanted to wait, that's what I did last year with the S3.

Mine is W/C 27 June which is Week 26 so yours is the same as mine. I would expect to have it delivered about 4 weeks later so end of July.

Been to Audi today and ordered an A4 avant black ed with milano leather and heated seats...the car is already at the docks so the S3 will be gone in a couple of weeks...very happy with the deal I have, a big thank-you to Simon from stoke Audi.

Stu, Just taken a look and can't see anything different at all, thanks and it is standard apart from leather and heated seats its got all the black ed stuff in though which makes it quite well specced, it was take one of these or wait 12 weeks and guess what the S3 will be worth so thought this was the better option. Still don't quite know how i will cope with the power drop!!!!

Maybe starting to save for a mk4 R32 as a weekend car will help...

What spec have you ordered??

You might find you don't need the .:R, the 3.0 TDi isn't short on power and if you find you need it a little drop of software will make it even better.

You've done well to get a car already in the UK.

I had initially ordered the BE but changed to an S-Line with similar spec to the BE so that I could choose different wheels.

My spec is -

3.0 TDi Q Saloon S-Line
7Sp S-Tronic
Quartz Grey
Leather/Alcantara with Silver Stitching
19" 7 Arm Double Spoke Wheels
S-Line Sports Suspension
B & O Sound Pack Inc DAB
Tech Pack High
Heated Front Seats
Audi Parking Advanced
Audi Hill Hold Assist
Advanced Key
Interior Light Pack
Through Load
Electric Folding Mirrors

Nice options there stu, been and paid the deposit today and got taken for a spin in a R8 spider very nice and very very fast, what a noise thy v10 makes over your shoulder....
I have only gone for the 136 bhp stu so think I will need something to give me a little speed rush..

Was in the dealership yesterday finalising my deal.
My car was ordered last Saturday but I suspect it's going
to be a lot longer than 12 weeks!
Because of the larger Audi contribution my monthly payments
Have dropped about £20 a month so I'm happy!
I had a look at the MY 2012 bulletin on there internal website
Basically it is just colour changes on the A4/S4 range
Meteor grey goes along with Dakar beige
And S4 imola yellow & sprint blue go!
New colour was monsoon grey! Wouldn't mind seeing that!

Keef

Do you know the details of the new contribution, the split between dealer and VWFS?

No Sprint Blue??? Shocking.

Monsoon Grey is in the new brochure.

If there are no other significant changes I may see if I can still take the earlier car :eyebrows:

Stu

Think new deal is Audi = £1.3k & dealer = £2.9K - which meant another £300 into my deal - bonus!
Just has a look at Monsoon Grey - think i'll stick with Quartz!!
Think i'd go for the earlier car - What was the spec?

I confirmed with my dealer yesterday that the only changes to the MY12 A4 was the available paint options, so decided to stick with a week 21 build date, if I had wanted to push it back I would again have had to wait until week 27.

Keef,

I wonder if I'll be able to prize the £300 out of them, lol. So are you saying the change in finance rate is reducing your payments or the £300?

If the changes are as you say then I think I will go for the earlier one. Spec should be the same as I posted above, basically they ordered a car which was a MY11 build so when I asked for MY12 they ordered another and will spec amend the one I don't take for the garage or another customer.

APR on new deal is 6.3% (Representative 6.7%), think it was 6.4% on old but not too sure?
Think my monthly payments will be less due to the amount being financed reducing by the £300.
If your car won't be delivered before week 26 - then surely they'll have to give you the £1300 audi contribution? might be worth taking the second car order if you can wait!
Starting to panic about spec now - have i missed anything etc...... did consider auto tailgate
but im sure i can live without it.

I think the current (New) finance deal would be applicable to all orders now, regardless of whether they are already in the system.

for vehicles ordered before 30th September 2011 and delivered by 31st December 2011

I got an email from the Finance director confirming that changes were only colour.

I'll get on the blower tomorrow and see what's doing. The original car build week is W/C 9th May so I'm not sure on what the spec is they've attached to that and if it can be changed.

Options - For me I don't fancy the Millano, having looked at a few I think it ages quite quickly. I've gone for the Alcantara option. If it were me I'd have added load bars in the boot of an Avant. I also like the reversing Cam which doesn't add a great deal to the price and provides a nice view of what's behind you. Advanced Key was another luxury I added, after using it on the A8 loaner I had recently I'm hooked. Other than that I think we are pretty similar.

I don't know to be honest mate but if you are considering any I wouldn't leave it any longer than necessary.

I spoke to the dealers earlier, I have decided to go ahead with the earlier car as it appears there are no significant changes. Some good news as well, the Build has come forward a week.

Got to speak to the Finance man tomorrow about the change in the offer to see what the score is with that.

I ended up popping along to the dealer today and adding alcantara, adaptive lights and high beam assist, hopefully won't affect the build date.

Lol, It's addictive ;-)

Did you look at the stitching options for the Alcantara? You can have silver stitching to lighten the cabin if you want.

Already had silver stitching added to the order! Nearly ordered the advanced key but decided against it in the end as it seemed like a lot of money for only a small amount of convenience.

The Advanced Key is a bit of an expensive luxury but as I said above after using it for a while on an A8 I am hooked, it really is convenient.

Did you get the dealers to do a demo on it for you?

I didn't get a demo on it, maybe I should have. Surely all it is, is keyless entry and a push button start tho? Have used one on a friends focus before.

Cheers, watched the vid. Think I would still rather spend the £500 on other things.

The A7 I had for the day had advance key
I really like it but not for £500!

Isn't the start/stop button on the wrong side of the gearstick too? That would annoy the hell out of me, just like the handbrake on my old Focus, it's just lazy design.

Talking of start/ stop buttons - does the a4 range
have start/stop engine technology these days??
Forgot to ask the dealer!

That's correct .... and you can't have Hill Hold Assist if you have Start/Stop.

The Start/Stop cancellation button is one the left (with the e-brake on the right) on Right Hand Drive cars.

Argh damn it – it is addictive!
Just called dealer to amend my order.
Upgraded from Tech pack low to high
- not even sure of the difference?
And added power tailgate. Just couldn’t help myself!
Both options discounted by 8% so not too bad!

Don't think I'd get away with adding any more options. The wife would have a fit if this car gets any more expensive, she only wanted to spend £16k at most! :asskicking:

I think going for Tech High is a good idea ..... although I've no idea why you would without knowing what it was.

On my second B8 Avant I too added the power tailgate. It's a great option and one I didn't fully appreciate until all that snowy weather we had. Opening the tailgate without having to get mucky is surprisingly useful ;)

Discounts - I got the same discount off the options as I did the car.....about 12% :)

Just looked it up -

Thanks guys

I was being lazy and typing on the phone - perhaps I could’ve been clearer.
Been away from Audi’s for a while and didn’t exactly know the full spec of the Tech pack high – please excuse my ignorance!
Just wanted to know exactly what you get for the extra £470 from low pack.
Dealer original said not to bother with it!
All clear know and glad I changed and added the powered tailgate – roll on week 26!

Been to the dealers this morning to drop off my current
Car for trade in - so I'm on the train for 3 months!
Also I know it's only indicative and provisional at this stage
but car has slipped to build week 27 so might end up with a 61 plate!
Shouldn't have to wait this long for new cars!

That's a bit of a blow mate. Weerk 27 is W/C 04 July so if you add 3-4 weeks to that for transport to the UK and the dealer it'll put you into August and as you say it's that sort of no mans land waiting for 01 September.

I heard that several companies had removed VAG vehicles from their Company Car lists due to the long lead times. I guess that is something Audi will need to get on top of or else they'll lose their strong foothold in the market.

Conversely I know two people who have just ordered new Octavia vRS and they appear to be coming through reasonably quickly now, I know Skoda have had supply issues as well although I think these were linked to supply of diesel engines. I assume Audi, VW and SEAT will also have seen the same effects.

Just had a call from Audi UK regarding my order.
I sent them a message a couple of weeks ago moaning about the long lead in times and questioning why this was the case?
Basically although there where apologetic they said that my indicative build date would not improve! (wk 27)
When I started waffling on about brand loyalty he hinted at some sort of gesture of compensation from Audi.
When I pushed him on this he said he couldn’t do anything at the moment but suggested that there might be something closer to delivery.
I realise that this was probably just a ploy to shut me up but you never know!

Anyone else had a moan?

Not wishing to rub it in mate but I had a call from my dealer this afternoon, my car went into Production today so that's a week ahead of schedule, she said this had been happening on a few customers cars lately. I have to say after an initially rocky start to our relationship the dealer has really gone out of their way to keep me informed. I seem to be getting regular updates on progress whereas others have to pester the dealer for feedback.

A week early - that’s great news!
It’s still very earlier days for me yet as I only ordered towards the end of March.
And I’m sure that Audi will pull-back the production delays.
I’m optimistic that my order may move forward over the next month two.
Just don’t like waiting!
