The refurbishment has started

Well I started refurbishing my wheels last night; I think it went well, so far so good.

As you can see the wheels are in a bad condition and some marks are quite deep

I attached a sanding drill bit to my drill

And attacked them at full stream!!!

I then just went over the rest of the wheel to create a rough surface

So at weekend I need to wet and dry sand them and hopefully get primer on, (still not sure what colour to do them). It has been easier than expected, or have I missed a trick?? Or is the hard work still to come???

Please offer me your words of wisdom!!!!!!

Still to come mate! The wet and dry sanding between coats is the most time consuming part when spraying I find, but it's the bit that has the biggest impact on finish.

What colours you thinking? Something loud or subtle?

Just a tip for painting. Let all the air out of the tyre then push back the bead on the tyre, you can then get some wide masking tape between the tyre and rim along with some newspaper to mask off to get a good clean spray on the edges.

dont know, i have a thread with a vote on colour i was going to go Orange or Green but most people just think silver is best, not too sure if have the minerals yet to go orange
