You are joking I presume ? A spare one ? Rocking horses spring to mind !

You could make an offer on this if you want but bear in mind they're only £45 new from Audi !!

AUDI A3 DOUBBLE DIN CAGE NEW SHAPE 2006 ONWARDS on eBay (end time 02-Apr-11 21:11:32 BST)

I dont get ou? why would i be joking? im not after a spare one, i did te double din conversion months ago and havent replaced that switch panel because i didnt have it. they are only £22 from Audi new. Make an offer on what?

Chers

3 months?? What year is your car too, as there are 2 different styles, one is like Mike's link & the other is the older square button style.

Sorry mate - thought you were after the double din conversion cage, not just the bit around the switches. My mistake !! :ermm:

Ah right, no i fitted the double din cage months ago when i did my conversion, i am just looking for the actual trim switch panel that goes in the centre asround the hazard light. Alo it is the squarer one im after, the pre 2008 one. i think its 2005 - 2007.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chrisy,
I'm in the same boat as you. I did the same conversion and have been waiting on this part since decemeber. It finally came through about 3 weeks ago but they sent the wrong part number Doh, so the correct part is now on back order all over again.
Seems the part these days is like rocking horse crap.
Just a wating game im afraid lol

as far as i'm aware you can reuse the trim which you had when your car was single DIN. the only button that isn't quite right (but still fits) is the hazard switch but everything else was reusable?

Hi sub39H,
Tried this but unfortunately the top is curved off on the top edgeof the trim for the single din and needs to be 'pointed' for the double din set up. Couldn't re-use the old trim after numerous attempts and mods..

Would it help at all if I told you I had one spare :)

no i genuinely thought that you could reuse the old trim. i wasn't aware that they were hard to get ahold of or that they were actually sought after.

I'd had planned to change to the newer style of switches but looks a lot more complicated to work out what options to get as the MY11 is all one switch. At least I know there would be resale demand on at least one off my old parts LOL

I also didn't know there was such a problem getting hold of them mate but they certainly are different.

If you get a chance to compare single din and double din installations just have a look at the switch surrounds.

Single din has curved top edges to fit the dash console and double din have straight top edges to match the new position in between head unit and climate control.

Climate control fascia is also different due to the different angle between the grab handles when it's lowered!

Is your car ok now ?

yeah thanks. went in for it's service/cam belt/gearbox oil change and i mentioned it. they couldn't find any faults.

I do! Hence why you called me a wind up merchant lol

Possibly, if mate only has cage then should have spare trim panel.

I want one!! can someone pm me if they have one! I started this thread so i should get dibs on the first one goin lol!!!
