The "Rimz" Thread ** Look here before requesting pics of specific wheels**

Well just Dropped my BBS RS 710's off with N8 for a refurb and polish, they'll be fitted next Saturday. Cant wait to get them on :) So keep an eye out for the pics!

haha, no worries I'm in a world of my own most days. Looking forward to getting the rimz on and hopefully get a glance over your motor too.

Well you did, mine are on Super RS's and these are reps of E50's. Close but not the same if you knew your BBS's you would not have made that mistake. Either way, the reps are poor, it's all or nothing for me, bit like a base model kitted up as an S3!

Wait I never said these are bbs reps atall, I said that the car would 'look' like yours if it had similar tires. So I didn't make any mistake of thinking these are the same wheels.

Anyone got any pics of a 3 door Akoya silver on speedlines or RS4 style preferably 19s?

Thanks
Shane

Hi all....must say there's some crazy wheels in here...

Hopefully some of you wise people could help me out - I want to put 18" (probably OEM) rims on my 8P SE but I've been told that it will sit like a monster truck!

I know the better models ride lower already but I'd be very interested to see what my car would look like on 18s without being lowered

Anyone seen it?

Got a quick question for you guys...

Why do the majority of people who mod their audi look to get original audi wheels to replace the standard alloys or wheels they had? With a market that has hundreds of different styles of alloy wheels and people who love to mod their car to make it their own, why is it that audi drivers want to keep the wheels audi?

I have a 3 door a3 and will be looking to get something different where as my friend has a 5 door and will not consider anything that isnt audi?!

you will find that alot of people want to keep there cars ''oem'' which is original equipment manufacturer, this is a very common look in the vw and audi scene and is basically where people mod there cars with better parts from the manufacturer, for example N8s car, everything on his car is oem from different models of audis and even Mercedes, it gives the car a very personal and unique look. thing with wheels is you can get a lot of different types of wheels that look tacky from aftermarket manufacturers and just dont suit the class of an audi, a good example of aftermarket wheels is all of the bbs wheels, their wheels are awesome and they also make some of audis wheels for them like the speedline splits. hope this helps lad

thanks for replying luke, ive always changed the alloys on every car ive had so far. I have just got my first audi though and signed up here. I figured it maybe down to the fact that audi has a certain class about it and people dont want to come away from that. Hopefully if i do go down the road of a different brand of wheel i will be able to choose wisely!

when im buying new wheels for my car im getting oem wheels or bbs/oz wheels , with a car like the a3 oem just suits it down to the ground there are so many nice wheels that audi ,merc etc.. do thats why so many people do it for that oem+ look

lol, I'm not a fan of the oem rims. I understand why a lot are, but if I am gonna mod my car to make it individual to me I want it to look like nobody elses on the road.

and thats bad WHY exactly, n8 wheels are

I didnt say it was bad did I? I just said i didnt prefer oem wheels. Regardless of size or colour, there are still gonna be plenty of people on the road rolling around in an audi with the same style wheels, which is what I prefer to get away from.

I was referring to your line of "I want it to look like nobody elses on the road" which if you look @ my sig, I think I've achieved "laugh"

I'm guessing you don't pull up to the lights next to the exact same car much?! would love to see it though

At the end of the day modding is a personal thing, if u like aftermarket go for it lad :)

what are these ones? are they OEM (i see audi rings)

I wouldn't have to ask if people named the alloys next to the pic!!

Yeah there oem, called speedlines

negative, They are called BBS RS861 or nicknamed BBS Speedlines, as the first batch were made by BBS and the others by Speedline.

Which brings me neatly to my question! I'm just waiting for my tyres to be delivered (215/35/19) to which I will be fitting to the above wheels. All 4 are 8.5x19 ET 48.

My question is can I run a 10mm spacer, that i currently have fitted to my front, to the rear? If 0.5" = 12.7mm and some of you guys run 9.0x19's at the rear, even with my 10mm spacer ill be 2.7mm less right?

You might be able too. I've got 5mm on the rear with 225 and would say it's about flush.

Can i go to Audi dealer and ask for them then??
