A friend had asked if i would look at doing a correction detail on his RS after seeing the work i put in on my VXR and being the colour is close i had a good idea how to build on that, he has not long since bought it from the main dealer and it turns out the car had had a bit of paint work carried out on it so this was mainly about refining what had been painted and protection it and bringing the older paint up to scratch.
I havent added the befores but tbh they are kind of boring the was the usual pretty dirty covered in road film, bitmac spots and swirl marks from poor washing techniques by the previous owner. To me its the end product thats exciting as im not one for showing pictures of dirty clay and close ups of crusty wheels. What i will say is this car was covered in tar spots to the point i thought they were never going to end but i got there with them. The paint work on these audi's is like concrete as others im sure will know and with the car being an RS alot of the panels are alloy so heat had to be kept down and pressure at a low so as not to cause any damage.
The car was 80% there as i could have spent another day easily on it doing the little finer details like the alloy parts as they were in a mess but the aim of the game was to correct the main paint work, i was reasonably happy with my efforts and Mark was over the moon but i will revisit the car again in the next few months to do some spot corrections.
I must say Black Light is so easy to use, i have used it on the roof as a test and DJ Skull candy on the other panels so we will see how it fairs up to the weather.
