Hi iv just gone hybrid and getting it end of this week I got some mods for it but not the main ones.

Im Running a cheap map at 20psi prob what's just fooooked my other turbo.

I'm on a budget of 200 after iv bought the turbo from cr turbos.

I no I need rods,3" downpipe, injectors and more but no got the money and need my car so instead of getting standered ko4 I went hybrid.

Can I run my car with this without putting the foot down ,running high boost or takeing the map off so its standered again or am I just going to blow the engine up.

If I can run one of these ways what will be the down sides.

Thanks for any replys gaz

so you want to run it with a hybrid turbo on either the standard or cheap map? why go hybrid if you havent got the money to do it properly?

Depending on what the actuator is set at, if it's low enough, I think you'd be safe to run with the n75 unplugged, giving actuator pressure only

I don't want to be swoping turbos paying someone to do that twice two I was going hybrid anyway three no point paying lots on same tubo iv had for 7 month four because I want to.

If I cannot run the car like that it just means ill take it off road for few months till I have the money and plus side can play about with her a lot getting everything ryt

Cheers prawn its set as standered mate iv been tolded that just wanted your thoughts mate no they would be a fault but would it still run ok and not nak the engine don't mind having it off the roadif that's better.

IIRC, Bill unplugged the N75 on Speedy Steves until he saved up for the map and injectors... running actuator pressure on std injectors should be fine and being a wideband ECU the fuelling will adjust ok so little chance of going lean... but! the N75 must remain off and don't fit the injectors before mapping as the map will not know they are larger... injectors and map should be done together and as you don't have rods I wouldn't suggest running much boost when it is done..

I think maybe you should have asked these questions before ordering the turbo ;)

I have just asked very similar questions to yourself but I have the money to spend but dont want to for the type of driving I do.

I was running a cheap map and I bought a Revo map at Bills last weekend, this has sorted out a few of my running problems but has highlighted my weak turbo. The turbo will be coming off soon for a refurb.

I asked the questions you have asked above and decided against a hybrid and instead will be just going for a standard K04 refurb and then maybe a stage 2 map when it's done.

Great tufty what I wanted to here I won't be putting the injectors on till the map going 550cc geniusis and if I do get it mapped first be getting a boost controller so I can lower it to about 8psi if that's ok.

Will it be running slower than what it was 202 g/s I'm not bothered just so I no its safe till sorted pal.

Ummmm, yes. And don't take it anywhere near the redline to try and find out would be my advice.

Lol or I won't welly had too much bad look with her ha not going through no more

Will be tempting like but least I no iv got it under the hood till sorted e cheers yours ok now.

Ok... first... you won't be able to get it mapped before fitting the injectors... a) whats that actual point as it will need mapping again, z) no one in their right mind would actual map it without injectors!

IF you need to run the car at all, pull the N75 off and drive carefully... its 'safer' with it disconnected however it doesn't mean you can drive like you stole it even on limited boost...

Speedy Steve had alternative transport while waiting to get his mapped... IF you can get away with it then don't drive the car...

The ECU will adjust to compensate for the increased air flow but it will still be advisable to not rev the car to the redline (as Welly has already said)

Low revs and no hard acceleration and you should be fine... but you HAVE to be responsible...

Personally if you haven't got to drive the car then don't.. and yes you will be pulling much less airflow and the car will feel powerless...

Got a question for you while your on this subject, as I am in a similar situation. I sent my s3 off to have the the engine rebuilt as the head gasket went and I found a crack in the head and exhaust manifold. Got the turbo checked while it was there and that has also cracked. So I went hybrid aswell for the same reason, but had the con rods, pistons done with the build. Should I be running this set up with the standard intercoolers, injectors, etc

Not really, but depends on the mapping I guess...

Thanks I won't be mapping it anyway and wasting money was just thinking if it saves mi car then 400 is worth that.

I would not drive like a tit if people tell me not to with how the car wil be running the n75 will be off all time.
Am I ryt thinking I can get I mapped proply and put the foot down when iv done the following rods, injectors, 3"downpipe tar

The less power can handle that just get me from a to b if I need to drive if I don't I won't what's the point.

Just found out A guy fitting my turbo for £60 who has fit rods before as he's a machinic has just told me he will do them for £180 is that a bargin or not and is it realy a big hard job

It's at amd essex, they fitted the engine and they are gonna do the mapping. Originally I was only gonna do the usual dv, induction kit and stage 1 map but it has all snow balled. How important are the injectors? I can understand the intercooler but im not looking to break the 300 mark just yet, and should I be looking at the down pipe to get the hot gasses out quicker?

Bill did them for me after owning the car for 4 months or so.

If I was staying at a stage 1 I probably wouldn't of had them done, but I have Welly-esque aspirations!

thats very cheap gaz....... almost too cheap

it is cheap bill i no its a guy my girlfriends uncle nose has his own garage hes fitting my turbo on tuesday and then going to ask him to do rods i think been in the buisuness a few year and done some before

do i need a manifold gasket if its coming off with turbo guys tar
