Another Welly thread :(

i think we have actively offered suggestions, better still, suggestions we would personally go with ;)

Haha, i didnt even realise i wrote it to sound that way, tbh it was ****** painful, neede one of them rubber dingy's to sit down, lol.

Ill be their and the car will be sorted, ill make sure :).

You 3 know how to fill up a thread dont ya!

JD I'm also like to recommend an elise as a weekend car. I loved mine but I tried to use it as an every day car and that was horrible. One day I'll get myself an elise S2 for the weekends.

Lol at you lot! The reason I will stick around on the forum and post the occasional jibe on Tim's facebook wall about his new car ;)

Well after a bit of thought, I think I might be in the market for a 350Z. I know that doesn't sound like much of a weekend car to some, but it will be to me. 3.5l of V6 goodness, but still OK to to go the shops in and motor back up North :)

JD why don't you get the Revo trial (if they still do it) before you make your mind up? It will totally change the way she feels! And you may just fall back in love with her!

It's not really the power or delivery buddy, but appreciate the shout :)

What exaclty is the issue with it mate?

I think the steering feels vague. But I think I just haven't got use to the feel from a go kart Renault Clio to the bigger boaty Audi. I know they are known for not having an amazing amount of feel but this did catch me by surprise!

I think you will find it's a trait of most Audi's/VAG cars, and it doesn't get any better when power steering becomes more electric.

That was the feeling Joe. The A4 has it as well and that is brand new (ish). The R8 doesn't have it but that's not mine haha!

E46 m3? Dropping lots in price. Nice car to drive. Beautiful sound from the exhausts and engine.

The Elise is quite a possibility actually. I like the idea of soft top as well.

M3 have been looked at, but I worry about buying a car like that with the mileage I'll be looking at. The S3 can be expensive if things really go wrong, but an M3 would be a nightmare.

Hmmm 350z, interesting. Why not go for newer Clio?

I will never go Renault again, sadly. AWFUL build quality and customer service was just dispicable. Three engine wiring looms in the first 9 months of ownership and they could not have cared less. If I had been in work, I would have been fired for the amount of time I had to take off from school/Uni.

Those E46 M3 are built very well, a mate of mine had one and he drove it hard, never let him down, he then got one of the first v8 m3 and had no end of trouble with it.

S2000 would be another I'd consider looking at.

They make theS3 look reliable :)

Considered Z3M coupe?

Looked but worry about going backwards, age wise. And in smoke ;)!!!

Have you had a wee glance at the insurance for them? I love them and almost bought one. Then thought "insurance costs", had a look, £2,300 (24, 5NCB, no points/accidents). Madness. The S3 is only 630!

yeah i love the S2000 and the seating position where everything is just built around you - TVR'esk....

oooh ooh ooooh TVR!!! weekend car, Ford prices to replace most bits likely to break down ;)

yarp, wrote that then thought i should add the caveat to buy two..... haha

As mentioned before, I used to be specialist sales for VX220 - i'd imagine the Elise is the same, buy gallons of threadlock!!

The Elise wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I owned one for 10 months and used it as a daily driver through rain or shine (you'd have to be mad to use it in snow)! The only reall issue I had was with the clutch piston siezing and needing a load of oil to get it loose again.

TVR, terrible build quality,,smash them and there just about wrote off
e46 m3 nice cruisers, very heavy on suspension parts and servicing is a must and expensive

I don't see it as a weekend toy either Dave, so discounted them.
