A fella pulled out into the fast lane into my wife and baby as he 'didn't see her' despite having her xenons on at 3 O'clock in the afternoon. Anyway, everyone was ok but the car is a write off so I looking for a new B6 3.0 quattro sport with bodykit. Preferably a low mileage, manual with heated seats. Let me know if you can help.

Sh***t that looks bad, i'm glad your loved ones are safe and well..

Buy that back and repair it ?

There's a lot of suspension damage, plus trying the get hold of the Votex body parts. The rear quarter panel would be an awkward one to fix too. I would never feel the same driving it again so am glad it's a write off. I'm glad I hadn't just spent £900 on the cambelt which was booked in for the following Thursday!!

Mate thats a shame to loose it .but glad the misses and kid are ok .good luck finding a replacement .I would still ask how much the insurance wants for it back and maybe get some cash back breaking it ?

I hope the rozzers look into why the other fella changed lanes without seeing you ! Far too much bad driving around these days.

Had someone cut me up badly in town the other day, I had to stamp on the brakes and take evasive avction to avoind hitting him. When we happened to both pull into the same car park I said "nice driving mate" in a sarcastic way and he virtually blanked me, to$$er !

Glad it everyone is ok though for you.

He admitted full liability so we are getting paid out in full. If I bought the car back & fixed it, I would have to get the cambelt done & it would never be worth as much after an accident so can't see how I would benefit. The police didn't do anything other than take a statement!

one of the lads in here can do the belt for you for a few beers,

I discussed this on here a few weeks back and it's a good 6 hours work on the 6 cylinder engine. Even Independents wanted the best part of a grand including all rollers, tensioners, rocker cover gaskets etc.

There's no way I'm going to be getting the car back, so will be looking for a replacement. Number plate has been put on retention and just waiting for the cheque. Fed up of driving the Volvo s80 courtesy car now.

Have the insurance company already agreed a value? From past experience when my A6 was written off I know that they'll offer you £X but you should look the length of the country to find another just as good as yours and show the insurance company so they have to fork out enough to buy it. If it's a 3.0 Quattro with votex kit (was the kit decalred to your insurance company?) then it's rare and that puts you in a good place to be picky.
PS - glad the family are OK. my missus was pregnant and driving my A6 when it was written off and she got a few quid for the trauma of the event. hormonal pregnant woman in a smashed car in tears results in a bunch of instant supporters at the roadside apparently :)

They made an offer which I refused and made the point that we had the votex kit and window tints (both of which were on our policy). They increased the offer by a further £500 which I have also refused. I've emailed them adverts of cars and have told them what I will accept and am waiting for them to get back to me. The solicitor is claiming for a new childs seat, the bluetooth handsfree kit and the DVLA fees for the number plate.

good stuff. at the end of the day their client wrecked your car and they are responsible for giving you enough money to buy a similar replacement. have you found a 3.0Q with factory fitted votex kit etc anywhere in the UK for sale?

There have been 2 for sale since the accident but I needed to wait until they confirmed mine was a write off. There's one on eBay now but it's already sold for £6k. Going to have to wait I guess.

is there any way to get historical car listings from autotrader, like the facility on ebay to search "closed" auctions?
hmm. Audi dealers probably don't keep anything as old as our B6s now I guess.. do you know anyone else with a similar car to you that might be inclined to advertise their car on autotrader.. even if they perhaps would have a change of heart and not in fact sell it in the end? ahem...

I think they will approve the amount requested so it's just a case of looking out for a new car. Not sure how long that will take though!

good luck with the search. at least there are quite a few people on here that will give you a shout if we spot anything
