Hello guys,

Just picked up my new S3 sportback black edition. The wife has had both her 2.0T A3's mapped. One was a Revo, and the other an AMD both which have been impressive, with the Revo seeming to pull harder off the mark.

I also spoke with DMS Automotive today who advised their map will take the car to 317 bhp and 350 ft lbs of torque which is very very temping.

What map do you have?

Cheers, Ramos

Revo here...all uploaded etc by AMD Essex.

Went from Stg2(310bhp and 360lbs)through 2+(360bhp and 360lbs) to Stg3 with 440bhp and 420lbs.

Christ mate that must be a monster????

I had Superchips, I know they get a bad rap but Audi did it for me using them, and it pulls like a train, very happy with result, was around £400 i think, scares a lot of bigger marques when they think they will just pull away from you and when they see you in there rear view, right on them it's quite funny to see their faces!!

I personally am not a fan of Revo software, use Celtic tuning software on mine and love it great results, smooth delivery and pulls through the rev range

Just to keep things even, I have a GIAC map. Real nice & smooth but muchos torque. £550 deal including 2 maps, hand held controller, new spark plugs & panel filter. My mapper does the maps only for £375 at the moment.

I got GIAC as it seemed smoother, in an effort to try to avoid melting the std clutch. Epic fail there, so new clutch forced me up to stage 2 with 340-350 horses.

Good luck deciding on the map while you enjoy the std car. Makes the map even more worthwhile when you get it...

Had a Revo on my previous car which was great.

Had a quote off Celtic tuning for my 140 which was £316.00 and they travel to you :)

Anybody else have any views on Celtic Tuning ?

Shane seems to be a fan but just want to test the water as I haven't really heard of them before.

That evolve map does look impressive. What affect has it had on mpg?

Have Evolve been around for a while? I'm aware from reading around here that Revo are well respected with a safe product from extensive R&D. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this map and experienced any issues or how well it stood the test of time?

Better mpg if i drive easy / normal, worse if i cane it...! but worth it!

I paid £280 for my map at local place

It goes well enough!.....and the software plus backup have been excellent.

I haven't seen any of the other companies with the exception of APR and VF Engineering who deal in software for bigger turbo conversions and even those seem to stop at the GT2871,so even if I hadn't before,Revo were the obvious choice there.

youll find the Evlove map epic, thats what im running on mine as well, it pulls like a train an is very smooth!

they have been around a fair while, but they built their name in the BMW & Porsche world, but owner is just a very talented mapper and knows how to get the best out of an engine. ive had the map on my car about 8 months (think i was the first person to have an Evolve map on here) and the only side effect is the clutch has gone, but thats a side effect with any map on the 8P's

Do you think the S-tronic gearbox will hold up better than a manual?

from what ive read they are a lot tougher and can take a lot more torque then the manual which seems to have been built on a budget so i wouldnt worry about that at all

think over on VAGOC there are a few guys running revo 2+ without any problems so a Stg 1 shouldnt be an issue

Do not go 2 Celtic Tuning

I have a 8L S3 had it remapped by Celtic last year and 9 months down the line bent con rod from over bosting. Celtic told me the map would take the car up to 270bhp and 246Lbft they told me some **** and ball story to do with the haldex so they did not put it on the rollers. After having the engine rebulit with a cost of £2000 I went to see bill at badger 5 he put it on the rollers and the car was making 248bhp and 300Lbft. He said thats what you get from a spike map so DON'T do it you get what you pay for take it from me.
