Scottish Group Buy - Cruise Control

Hmmm. I would have really wanted this for my S4 if it wasn't for sale. As for coming further North, I often find Perth is about as central as it gets. Its about the same distance as Inverness-Aberdeen, and will take a good 45mins-1hour off the travel time for folks coming from the North and is really easy to get to.

Perth is a good suggestion actually, or we could end with Jonny doing a Scottish Tour lol. Have also posted this on ScotVag as well, a few Audi owners on there as well, so we will see.

Jonny, can you do any other VAG models

Tony where we planning doing it just in a car park?!

Retail Park or Multi Story Car Park if wet, unless somebody knows anywhere better. Ideally, it would a large garage inside nice & warm, outside lovely burger van lol. Open to suggestions.

Burger van and Tea would be a must!

Yep, all in. It's gone up slightly, advertised on the VW site now at £165
Accessories : Owners : Volkswagen UK

Golf MK6 is £188

No idea what Audi would charge though

I think the golf 2004-2009 can have the 'one stalk' fitted which includes indicators/cruise etc on one stalk instead of having two which makes it cheaper and you also dont need a lower cowling as again the indicator stalk would be replaced with the 'one stalk'.

Can't think off the top of my head anywhere in Perth that meets all these requirements. Mainly the indoors bit really. However, Tesco in Dundee (South Road) has an indoor car park, and being at Tesco, it obviously sells refreshments. Plus only 20 miles away from Perth. But then again, that's moving even further north. Scottishvag have monthly meets there and they haven't bothered us yet.

Beyond that, I can't really think of anywhere public. I do have room for 5-6 cars at mine, with a double garage with power and heating, but that is further North (and East) again, and would depend on date. But could throw a BBQ on for burgers, lol. Although I'm sure the wife would prefer it to be at a more public venue, lol.

Perth does have a indoor car park, next to the concert hall, I think, if memory serves me right. Right in town centre as well, so should be near a cafe
as well. But yours sounds good as well, where abouts are you ?

I'm just outside Arbroath.

Yeah, right enough, there is a couple indoor car parks in town, I was thinking more for having to pay for parking and stuff with regards to them places. Where-as Tesco in Dundee is a supermarket car park, so no worries on that front. And with it all being the same level, and no sleeping policemen knocking about, it would be friendly for the lower cars too. There are some pics here of the latest Tesco meet we had over on Scottishvag: Just to give you an idea of the layout...

if i missed any out its because the shots turned out blurry (i was just borrowing a camera so little knowledge on how to use it), but if you want pics of your car say for the next meet!

We regularly see 15-20+ cars there when we meet every month...

Did that Bora go down the Edt 38 last year??

Perth does have an indoor car park now i think about it as we stay there when we are doing the macrae rally and the IRC, handy to store the cars in a safeish place over night.

I'd be interested in Perth guys if the dates suit as I work offshore. I'm based in Inverness

Just a wee update, phoned up Perth Audi this morning to ask about getting the Cruise Control fitted, and having the coming home / leaving light function programmed in, reply was, wait for it...............£422.13 for Cruise Control :faint:, and the light function couldn't be done , so, there we have it, useless! I don't know if other dealers would be any different, but i doubt it. Maybe a few quid thats all.
Makes Jonny's deal look a real bargain.

Come on guys, get your names down for Jonny to come and do his thang for us, ..there's no way any of us want to pay over 400 quid to have cruise fitted by our nearest Audi 'stealer'!! That's outrageous, but nice one for finding that out, Ton. :)

If I could get additional things programmed via VCDS I'd defo be in even if it does mean a travel, make a day of it.

Can you do other things like going home lights/ multi function etc?

Get your name down, Dude! Jonny has said that he would be happy to do some additional VCDS coding for those having cruise fitted on the day, ..it makes the road trip all the more worth it :)

Ok, now looking like we might have enough to start planning. Let's go with the location as being Perth, all definates put your name down on list.

1. ton246.

Jonny, could you put a few dates together that you would be available to do the conversions + a total price based on travelling to Perth.

Cheers Tony.

Good stuff chaps.

Fuel expense for the trip would be a total of £65 -- obviously split amongst all attendee's.

I feel that we should keep it to a weekend -- will be best suited to everyone that way.

My free earliest dates, to also give a bit more time for anyone else wanting to join in, would be the Sunday 10th or 24th April.

Phoned up Stirling Audi, just to get a comparable price, they quoted £325.00, better, but still not as good as Jonny. So people, get your names on the list.

Are 2011 and 2008 stalks the same part number?

Some are different mate, I'm trying to work out the date at which the change happened...

I installed CC into a 2010 S3 yesterday and it had the same stalk as the 2008. Got a 2011 A3 to do on Monday so I've sent off for the VIN to be checked to see what stalk would have been installed.

Please put name down plus preferred date. (copy & paste)

1. ton246 (either date suits)
2. l4hsa

ETKA shows the same retro-fit stalk number up to MY 2012

Cheers for that Mike, my ETKA only goes up to 2010.

Certainly confusing me all this talk of 'it cant be fitted'. In the 2010 S3 everything was the same apart from the Engine was coded a bit differently, worked spot on, all Cruise info on DIS as well.

I checked price with local dealer to me. £360. Jonnys price is under half that hence why ill be seeing him in London in a few weeks!!!:icon_thumright::thumbsup:

Made a decision on dates........sooner the better

1. ton246 (10 April) + vcds works.
2. l4hsa (either date suits)
3.chris (either) + additional vcds work
