Screeching noise

Got an Audi a4 1.9tdi

makes a sharp grumbling noise when you full lock the steering wheel either way

any ideas budds?

Check your power steering fluie level, they do this when its below level. Best place to start

If not it could be the alternator pulley! I had this recently and mine had seized. The garage replaced this and the belt and I think it was about £180 as they had to take the alternator out to replace the pulley due to a lack of space in the engine bay.

Exacaly the same as me. After a while mine got worse and was even doing under normal steering.. So i had it replaced yesterday

Replaced the alternator pulley and also the AUX Belt + AUX Belt Tensioner.

All working fine again now

I've had the same on mine,it also squealed when you backed off the throttle that turned out to be the air-con pump bearing had seazed.
