Im looking to get an induction kit for my s3, what do most people run?
I hear the Neuspeed one from awesome gti is meant to be good, as it has a heat shield so the open filter isnt sucking in hot air.
I want a decent one, Ive seen cars on rollers with induction kits that suck air in and they lose power!
Mr friends celica lost 10 bhp by fitting a K&N Typhoon.

Thanks for the help

Badger5 TIP and Jetex filter. Done.

The map below shows the difference it made on my car (ignore the actual numbers though as the car was running a pants map and had a knackered N75 at the time).

Surely there must be a spare TIP that we can try on the rollers before we decide whether to buy? There will be 3 8l S3's coming so it might be worth it for Bill ;)

nope.
this may sound arrogant, and its not meant to, BUT there is no other TIP available with so much data and proof of function out there, data collected from me and a stack from customers running them... aka inbiased independant opinion & results.

there is nothing further to test, nothing to "prove", so with the greatest respect, I have done plenty of personal testing of this before releasing it, and customers 100% confirm gains.

I am having a lively debate with a TT owner who has a huge bee in his bonnet that its "untested" on a TT, which is not the case. TT's are also running on these, and starting to catch on to the gains also.

I wont be performing such a test to prove anything.. as there's nothing to prove.
If you were having a dyno, and wanting a TIP, then it could be staged timing wise that it was strapped down, run as is, 3" TIP fitted, and re-run... and the gains are the gains, whatever they may be. The 3" TIP however will need to be purchased and the hours fitting time paid for.

I can give you a passenger ride in mine if you want, Im essentially at a stage 1 with the Badger 5 TIP and Jetex.

Ahhh yes, the infamous 'Doug'.

+1, whats the problem, the engines are the same are they not? Personally I'm fine with burning off the hairdressers :eyebrows:

Westle just let me know if you want a quick run up to the roundabout and back it only takes me about 15 mins to get there.

Dude, do you mind if I post this on that TT Forum thread?

LOL at your post Welly,
Also Im happy for the thread on my results to be posted rolling roads before and after and all sorts, surely thats enough proof to satisfy anyone? I know it doesn't want to be seen as advertising but theres alot of info there (unless of course its in the SCN one)

Cheers for the explanation bill, that's a very fair point. I will probably tak dane up on his kind offer of a blast down the road and back and if I purchase one I'll probably fit it myself at another time. Do you have these TIPs in stock and ready to buy?

From the evidence I've seen and the reports from those using them I'm sure to purchase one.

I'm trying not to link things to ASN at the moment, as apparently the world is going to end if people come on here according to Google Chrome...

No worries

Cecil bills 3" tip will fit fine trust me, the non-esp engine is identical at the back apart from the layout of the n75 and pcv inlets, the only difference between the original s3 tip's and the later ones is the double bend at the base of the tip, this on the orginal s3's was reinforced and made it impossible for the tip to collapse unlike the later s3's were tip's collapsing was said to happen at higher rpm's.

Also arnt the TT lot a bunch of stuck up *******, some of them really do need to get over themselfs.

Next time I won't waste my time trawling your tawdry little forum trying to find non-existent facts and truths where the members can't even use proper words and sentences. I think I'll just fling a few cheap insults around. Oh no, wait... We don't do that on here. Oh no, wait... You haven't been around long enough to realise that have you?

beggars belief how some folk think of others..
