Hey all, driving my car (Audi A3 1.8T Sport 99) last night and as the title says i have some intimitant loss off power and it sounded like a scooby... If i wanted it to sound like a scooby i would have bought one  lol, i was woundering if anyone has had a simalar problem

Thanks In Advance

he has a 99, coilpacks are less common on AGU engines. I'd go for ignition module first. Thats what mine was.

Thank you for your reply, i had a small feeling it could have been something like this thank you :)

Not on recall list :( but £104inc VAT unipart 4 instock

If it has an ignition module, i'd be swapping that out before the coils.

When they fail they often drop cylinder 2 first.

A4/A6/Passat with an AEB/AJL motor also use the same coils and ignition modules as well ;)

I've got a spare you can try if your local.

undo the coil pack connections one at a time, then you would know which one is at fault.

My misfire was a duff HT lead. Remember to check these, as I changed the coil pack and plugs before realising this.

Hi, could anyone tell me please would a light always come on the dash if a coilpack was playing up? Thanks

Does the BAM S3 have an ignition module? Mine dropped cylinder 3 tonight and I'm wondering if its coilpack or, if it has one, the ignition module. It's been idling a bit dodgy recently too.

Sam, yours is most probably going to be a coilpack mate.

Give Audi a call, they maybe able to swap it under the current recall that they have running.
