Well i have been debating this for a few weeks now what to do with my wheels as the laquer has started coming away from my rear wheels and i need them re-doing as i love my car and i am quite fussy. i currently have 19" RS4's on but have been re-furbed in a gun metal grey (by the person i bought the wheels off). Now the question i have is what you you guys do .... would you have them re-furbished again in the same colour ? or would you have them refurbished in gloss/matt black? i am also considering powder coating them but im now sure what the finish is like and what colours you can have them powder coated? can someone shine a little light please ?

here are some pics of my car

They look amazing in tht colour

yeah they do looks really good :) but what about powder coating? is it worth it? is the finish as good as painted?

I lik they grey you already have!

Might get mine done that colour :) Suits Akoya Silver nicely

yeah thats why i bought them in the first place looks sweet :) but i seen matt black wheels and gloss black wheels and like them all now lol, im maybe thinking gloss black wheels to match my gloss black front grille and why there getting refurbed maybe get my mirror caps gloss black aswell ....

WoW that is powder coated? the finish is like the same of normal wheels? what colours can you get ?

They look great in that colour you have at the minute. Smoked chrome looks sick tho!

You can use any colour for powder coating, its supposedly more durable than a sprayed finish too.

i think about these wheels every night before i go to bed

The guy i sold these wheels to last year had them on his mk6 and when he was px his mk6 he had them in the back of his car over night and when he went out side to his car a toe rag smashed his side window and helped him self to them . oh and his other car was a e46 m3

I would go for anthracite finish like you have now personally, or a shadow chrome finish.

hmm im torn between the finish i already have like a dark grey in powder coating or gloss black in powder coating :/ decision decisions ....

i done my wheels when they were all kerbed and looking ***** in toyota magnetic grey sort of a dark met grey colour

yeah they look good either way :) defo getting mine powder coated now .... there is a company in manchester called AWR Furbishment that said they will shot blast, acid dip, powder coat the full worksfor £240+vat but they have done loads and seem to know what they are on about so im gonna go there .... im just still torn between the same finish i have now 1.like a gloss grey finish or 2.gloss black finish

cheers not bad considering i did them with rattle cans on my dinner hours (one wheel per day) eh , thats not too bad i suppose power coating last alot longer than painting anyway so its worth the extra in my opinion £240 thats for the 4 tho right lol

i used a can of satin black for the primer and one can of the grey colour for all four wheels for the base coat then one big can of laquer on each wheel they came out quite good i think as only two of them were kerbed and we have a good tool in work to get out the kerbing marks (i do them all the time for my job so did my wheels in no time at all)

its basicly a wheel grinder aka a die grinder it takes off metal off the rim of the wheel so its back to a flat surface with a bit of work and a bit of sanding

i had polished mtm,s and they had some minor marks from winter , got them powder coated silver and they came back amazing really go with the mirrors and front grill , really impressed with the finish.
not had time to take any pics , will try over the weekend,
the place i went to in edinburgh done about 30 colours !

fnmrst do you think if i got my wheels powder coated in black what would you suggest gloss black effect or a satin black effect? as i want my mirror caps same colour as my wheels? thanks
