There doesn't seem to be much information I can find on the B6 forum regarding this issue, but I thnk the A3 guys have had some expereince on this.

I purchased a set of JOM Bluelines form Venom Motorsport. Coilover front, and adjustable spring and shock on the rear. I had them fitted by a garage, but they have found that the fron sit pefectly nice and low, but the rears (even wound down to the max) they are sat really high. The car hasn't been driven yet, so they haven't had a chance to settle, and there is only a gallon or so fuel in the tank, so there isn't all that much weight in the back.

Has anyone else had similar issues? Pics attached to show just how high I mean...

Any ideas other than a full tank of fuel, and a couple of bags of cement in the spare wheel well?

hmm iv used them on an old b6 and they went down more than that

wow that is a big dif betwin the front and back to be fair the back is not going to drop no where near how much the front has when its settald in.
and its looks like its sitting higher than my sports on stander springs id be phoning the place you got them from as they just ant right

Yeah, I'm a little confused.

Well, the thing is, what can they do, apart from say send them back, and then fit another set. The price of fitting etc is just going to spiral. I can't fit them myself as I just don't have time, or the space.

i see what your saying mate but you cant have it sit like that more so if your not happy with it as for the price of fitting they have to suck that one its how it works when a part is faulty and to me they are not right at all

Yeah, I suppose you are right... I'll see if how they sit with a full tank, and a few miles on them, although I don't see them budging all that much. Pretty annoyed tbh, as I heard nothing but good reviews about these.

just replied to the other thread,

a tank of fuel & several bags of cement aren't going to fix that!

you say wound all the way down? are you sure they aren't all the way up, at their highest setting?

are these the correct items for your car? avant items maybe? fwd/quattro?

yes, correct item, and by 'wound all the way down' technically I mean up, as the adjuster sits on the top of the spirng. Pretty poor show if this is JOMs idea of low.

some adjusters sit at the bottom of the spring as well though? i'm guessing not but could it be that you've asked them to wind them up (when placed above the spring) but they've put them at the bottom?

clutching at straws here! maybe they've forgot to remove the jack before taking the pic ;)

haha... no I know they've done it correctly, I was there when they started the rears, and the direction they wind is simple logic. I'm just baffled as to what to do, I want to see if/how they settle and stick some weight it the rear and see what's what... then if I'm still not happ I'll be giving the guys at venom motorsport a call and see what they will do.. can't think of anything other than cutting a coil off the springs, but that's going a bit too far.

jesus thats higher than an se. have you wound them the other way just to see, if the car goes up more i would say wrong parts have been sent

id do as above post says then
send them pics asap to who you bought them from
and demand they send you the correct part and you will return the ones you have when new ones are fitted will cut a bit off the bill

Maybe they've the front and back mixed up ? seen similar results for similar reasons before...

Pretty certain they are the right ones, as it says the correct model number on the box. I'll ring them tomorrow and see what they say. I've just driven back with a full tank, and the old suspension and wheels in hte back and it's sitting lower, but still nowhere near low enough.

Can't mix up the front and back, as the rear is a shock and spring seperate, where as the front is a coilover.

Possibly they're Avant one's as mentioned, but even if so I can't imagine the Avants are that much heavier at the rear!

I don't think there are different ones for the Avant.. I'll see what they say on the phone and send them some pics. Hopefully I'll be able to get some Redline rears cheaper, that's if they can buy them in. I'll just have to see...

Looking at the pics again, don't care what anyone says, they're either the wrong springs or aren't fitted correctly

my guess is that it's the wrong springs, I'll just have to see what Venom Motorsport have to say, and what they will do about it... it's either new rear coilovers or custom springs but, I need to find out the spring rate of JOM rears.

How it's looking now with two of the original wheels in teh boot, and a full tank of fuel.

Yes I know it's filthy...

I was considering some JOM's....will wait and see what happens to yours tho. What model is yours? SE?

The 2nd lot of Pics look better, but its still not right ... my Avant Sport sits lower at the rear and thats standard

it seems to be a bit better in the new pics but if you are going to drive around with to wheels in the boot and a full tank of petrol to get to look like a stander sport/s.line id be looking to change them still

Yeah, the nose has been raised to try and balance it out of a bit, but it's still way off. I'm going to give Venom Motorsport a ring toda.

Yeah, it isn't ideal, but its certainl settled down a bit... but only a bit. It's far from where I'd like it.

Do you not have any large enemies you can kidnap and just leave in the boot for the unforseeable future?

yeah could see how it had droped mate and to be fair looks nice i think. but if you are trying to get the same look as C17LJR it will not drop that low

;)

my rears are only half way down too, still got plenty more to go

Just checked out your thread... looks awesome, take it that they are FK Highsports given that they are damping adjustable? Must have cost a pretty penny.

Yep, highsports mate.

luckily found them second hand the day i was gonna order new, best bit was they were a very good price & the seller was only 20miles from me.

Well..

Venom motorsport emailed me back after sending the above pics. They have asked me to send a picture of the rear setup underneath the car, so they can forward this to JOM. I'll have to try and get a pic tonight, and see what they say. Hope they get back to me ASAP.

well look good with some door blades on that brenrogers ;-)

ha yeah well i have a set kicking around my home right now and really dont want to put them on ebay as it means id have to put there price up and i dont want that really but his car is just calling out for a set of oem ones hehehehe

Did you measure springs on the one you have removed and the one you have fitted

well I've got some colourcoding plans.. how much would you be looking for a set of Door blades?

Did you measure springs on the one you have removed and the one you have fitted

the standard springs are taller, much taller, but the spring weight/rate is much higher, so they don't compress as much. I've sent of some undercar photos to Venom, who are sending them to JOM. JOM have also asked for the chasis number of my car to double check everything too. I can't see this getting sorted any time soon, so I'm considering just buyind a set of FK Highsports (I've had FK before and loved them) and sending these back.

Mine are AP's actually, but I've the same problem.
Any luck emailing Venom? do you have an email address I can send them pics of mine to? :D

any luck with this Bren?

sorry for the late replies...

actually I'e found Venom to be next to useless.. After waiting over 3 weeks for my Fks they have stopped replying to emails.

on anothe note, I've just had my wheels nicked after one month of owenership. just came on to write a thread for people to keep a look out.
