have many of you fitted a b7 MFSW?

No pro's in Ireland. If Shark opened here they would make a fortune

I know the wiring is different on the slip rings thats grang, but the airbag i'm not sure

Anybody have a how to?

B7 wheels have a dual stage airbag, B6s have a single stage airbag controller.

Wiring only the second stage is not proven to work in an accident, wiring both in parallel can make the airbag light come on and isn't proven to work in an accident.

How much do you NEED an B7 MFSW? And how would you, your family and your insurance company react if the airbag didn't work properly?

I fitted my B7 mfsw myself, no airbag faults, I changed the slip ring. the Mf is not working yet because I need the B7 module but will get that sorted soon as well. I can do it for you if you want, Im located in Ireland :O

i fitted mine myself all FULLY working no errors any where :)
pretty easy with vcds and the forums

Personally i wouldn't fit one myself, you say it is fully working yet you can't test the airbag?? Is it worth risking it?

If the airbag wasn't working properly then Id suppose it would show an error?

Nope, you won't know until it tries to activate it. And that is only going to happen when you hit something or someone hits you.

So what way did you wire it?

bought the slip ring and fitted it lol and it works... The mf doesnt work yet because I need the module thats under the slip ring. It has to be a B7 one if its a b7 sw

I have a b7 mfsw for sale if anyone on interested. £100

Has no one tested duel air bag on a single air bag set up?
Or at least been in a crash?

I have seen pictures of accidents where people have fitted a mfsw from a b7 and the airbag hasn't gone off!

That failed then, but how was it wired up, was the speed enough to active a standard air bag or what the crash impact enough to activate it?
But has any one taken the bits to one side and tested on a bench to make sure?
