8P K04 turbo on 8L S3?

Someone been looking in the classifieds! haha

Thats ayes then. I thought the same thin the other day when i saw it. i dont think it'd be astraight fit pal, wouldnt it need all new oil lines, athink anew manifold etc, someone should be along soon who knows all the in depth stuff

i know I'm digging up an old thread but has anyone tried this?
a friend of mine knows someone that fitted an 8p k04 turbo on a 2003 A4 and all he needed was an adapter so the manifold could fit on the 1.8t engine and oil lines..

What benefit would it really bring? I know the 8p is running more power but are the turbos that different?

well from what I know the 8P turbo had a better flow than the 8L k04 and also the 8P k04 is a billet turbo and is much more reliable than the older one..
the A4 I was talking about with a ported head made about 390hp with full spool around 3000rpm.. ;)

The turbo manifold is integrated into the exhaust manifold, pretty sure its not a direct fit either... if it was then the position is going to be different as its more central from what I have seen in pics so you would need to have a custom intake, DP and coolant/oil drain pipes made up...

The 8P K04 is the same comp wheel as the Hybrid 8L K04 anyways... be easier to just go hybrid tbh...

<tuffty/>

390bhp? really??? really really?
from a 35lb 2283 comp wheel...

hmmm

I know guys, it does seem abit stupid but that what I was told and it doesn’t mean that its true, I know any K04 is to small for 400hp but just wanted to hear your opinions on it.. ;)

SteveBAM... NICE WHEELS! I aspire to those one day.... (and the lowering)

Yea even on the 2.0TFSI the K04-64 is out of puff at 360-370 for 400+ you'll want a GT2871+.....

Was that stage 2+ or just stage 1 tuned. My friends stage 2+ s3 has dynoed around 360/370 bhp, his car dynoed at 290bhp standard.

they did the numbers on your dyno before when it was at Craig's!

Yes I know, I have all the runs on the pc here from before.. when it was Craigs

The dyno does'nt read as high here as it did at Craigs previously.
I am very happy with the results it reads however, the calibrations are not the same now as then.
std cars are bob on... mapped cars go to as "I expect to see them" for their mods and airflows logged.
Its not a "happy dyno", but if you get nice power here, you will get Great Power at a lot of other places.
Craigs new dyno reads lower than before... and possibly lower than mine does now.. although I dont think we have checked a car between our setups as yet.

Good ole Dyno Lottery eh! :D

So when Wellys car makes 338bhp here... :) on its Badger5 calibration, its a conservative 338bhp. Other K04 cars dont make more than 270bhp here ever, as yet!

Wow if that was stage1 that's quite high! I would typically expect to see 320ish on a strong stage1 car with an intake.... I was talking about 2+ levels of tune
