Frog tastes like (wait for it.....) chicken. It really does. The texture is closer to fish though. It was in a kind of chinese blackbean sauce and the legs looked like chicken wings. The body was a bit disturbing though. You flip it over and you can see the entire spine running through it. And I'm sure I got a shoulder blade stuck inbetween my teeth.

The chicken FEET I won't be trying again. I had a toe and moved on to something else.

why does every thing seem to tastes like chicken when trying to describe its taste?

That would freak me out, Not sure i could do it. lol

What was wrong with the feet? I can't seem them being that nice to eat or texture.

you ever had insects? I'm tempted but not sure i could bring my self to eating them.

hows the hang over welly?

Just had a voice conference meeting thingy, which basicly said "If you dont take the TUPE option this will be taken as your Resignation effect immediately " or something like that.
Looks like I have to take TUPE. lol

Killing me. I mean that. I hate working with a hang over. So far so good though - it's been a quiet one so far. Couple of managed print service issues, but no biggie.

I have mainly been looking into the fixes for the Yellow Light Of Death that my PS3 has suffered from yesterday.

Time to break out the heat gun and reflow the mainboard by the looks of things... That would be tonight's job then.

Now I am jealous. My PS3 went down with Yellow Light Of Death syndrome on Saturday. Annoying.

I'll be taking the old girl apart tonight and reflowing the solder on the chipsets to see if I can extract a few more months of life from the old girl.
 
Gutting mate, i hope you get it working again. I would certainly miss mine if it died!
 
Let us know how you get on Welly. I've heard of varying success with this, and fear that at some point i'll end up doing the same to mine.

100% Not safe for work and not my best work at that.
I'm getting tired and the misses kept looking over my shoulder wondering i'm downloading load of spit roasting images and images of the Chuckle Brothers.
She saw the final image, said something and went to bed. lol

Linky Not sure how long it will last before photobucket takes it down though.

welly the yellow light of death has happened to me 5 times, no joke! they gave me a new one everytime as after i paid for the second one they just couldnt believe it happened again. well, i went CRAZY at them on the phone. my record was two dead in a week. was good service though, they came and picked mine up and exchanged it next day. my latest one has lasted about a year now. touch wood.

well il give a break down of my weekend, not that anyone cares but hey ho.
friday was day off and did quite alot to my car.

saturday was up at 8 to head to llandegla forest in wales for some mountain biking, first trip of the year. uphill is not my thing really (i have 4 CROSS bike so its hard as f**k) but the downhill sections were well worth the pain. can easily shake off my mates who are on full sussers and im on a hardtail. was so exhausted after that.

the mrs fell out with me BIG TIME while i was in wales, had her shoutin down the phone while im on top of a mountain. soon made up though and boobie pictures soon followed.

sunday continued work on my car again, followed by some beers while watching a film called 'religulous' which i would recommend to anyone! watch it! hilarious!

today was gash slow. had a physics lecture, then went to work for a few hours to earn some pennies.

just been the gym to sculpt the guns, pow. gonna open a budweiser now.....

It's amazing what you can do with a solder reflow oven like we have at work.... So, happy days. My missus watched me do it, as I brought the gear home, and was laughing at me saying that it would never work...

Meh. It does. That shut her right up. Welly 1. Missus 0.

That's ace dude! Glad to hear of a real person who's fixed it. Time to sell it on eBay and buy a new slimline one before it does it again?

To be fair, I think they didn't really know about it until it was too late and it started happening. It was about 2 years before it became a common fault.
 
Bet you was very happy when it worked! Does this issue only tend to happen with the old PS3 and not the slim? Or is the slim to new to tell yet?

It's all to do with heat is the bottom line.

The 60GB ones suffered the worst - they had the original 90NM Cell processor which ran quite hot. They are by far the worst culprit for the YLOD problem.

The 40 GB and other varients of the fat PS3 then had a processor revision, and they used a 65NM Cell processor. This ran cooler making them less prone to the problem. Mine is originally a 40GB unit, however mine stays on ALL the time. All night, every night it is playing video off my external HDD even after the TV has turned off on sleep timer.

The slim PS3 now use a 40NM version of the Cell, which is obviously cooler again. However the slim PS3 has a smaller fan, and thus less efficient cooling - so it's hard to say.

Bottom line, keep the thing in as much of a dust free environment as possible, hoover the front vents out as often as possible and you are doing as much as you can to prevent the problem.

I'm thinking about buying a couple off the bay - with YLOD - and fixing them, then selling them.... :think:
 
Mine only tends to be on for a few hours at a time,so hopefully it should last! Its on its own shelf on the TV stand so not closed in too much.

Shall make sure i keep dusting it(well get the missus to do it when she does her housework!)
 
I usually have the Tv, PS3/360 & surround sound on for a few hours at a time and the room doesnt half get hot!
 
Yep, get her to put the hoover nozzle thing up to the vents on the underside of the panel where the eject and on buttons are.

By the looks of it, your reflow station is very similar to a hot air gun? How long did you heat the board for?

No, that's not what I used for reflow - that's part of my IT gear for dust removal. It's not a hot air gun, but just a blower basically.

I believe you can use a heat gun, 350 degrees C is the charm.

We use one of these, a benchtop reflow oven: Benchtop Reflow Oven, Lead and Lead-Free | APS Novastar

(not that exact one)

It was downstairs when I took the photos as is heavy.

30 seconds to a minute is ample.
 
I was gonna say, I'd seen a hot air gun used before but wasn't too keen on that method. I think my work will probably have one too so if mine breaks I think i will try this method.

I am excited to try this and in a strange way willing my PS3 to die, haha. I think I might see if work has one and consider buying one off eBay like you mentioned and selling it.

I've decided that, based on success rate of fixing a couple.... Which I have yet to buy...... lol, I might just start doing it a lot.... :)
