I'm planning my next trip to the garage.
I've done my rear disks, pads and bearings, now i'm doing the coolant system.
I checked the recipts i got with the car and i can't find any thing for the water pump being replaced. I'm going to get that, my temp gauge jumps from 70-90 or back down to 60 if I idle long enough and Its running on bluecoolant.

I'm going to replace the water pump, thermostat, temp sensor and the coolant.
Since all this is being take off and replaced. Any one recomend any other coolent bits thats worth doing at the same time?

the funds and time let me i'm going to try and get the front braked replaced, fluid change and resivor replaced. Meant to do it this time but ran out of money and time :(.

Thanks in advance.

Any belts need doing while the front end is off? Cant really think of any other coolant parts that would need doing.

Done all them.
Cam belt done when i got it, Aux belt done when it snapped just be for christmas.

Thats my thinking. Front end is off, so might as well make use of it. :)
I might try and get a AC compressor and get that on as well.

In that case thats all i can think off. Aux belt tensioner done? I know mine was squeaky as buggery so had to change it. I did that at about 106k last year. Snub mount at the front? Its only a few quid from dealers or you could get the APR uprated one from Awesome maybe?

Snub mount?

My tensoner failed and caused the belt to break up.

Ah right.

yeah the mount at the front at the bottom. Standard one is a squishy rubber donut but the uprated ones are poly so are much stiffer causing less movement when accelerating/letting off giving less movement in the gearstick.

Well Awesome used to sell it but not anymore it seems.

I'll have a look in it.
thanks.

Back flushing the heater matrix? access to the two connections is easy as.
I saw a great write up somewhere on-line, you want to have seen the gunk that came out during the flush!
will see if i can find it again.

i'm pretty sure you are supposed to run pink/orange coolant

You are.
G12+.
Blue is what was in the car when I got it and I got 15 litres of blue concentrated coolant from work. Since I was having coolant leak issues at the time I used that.
Now its fixed I'm going to go pink again.

I can't find any thing on this snub mount.
Is there is any aftermarket ones out here?

awesome do a b6 snub mount under the engine section which i understand some users inc aragon on here have used in the past.

yep, awesome gti used to sell one (listed for the b6), but i've heard they might have stopped listing it.

Not sure where else you can go.

Benefits are reduced engine movement basically.
