Audi Recall ( all petrol engines)

One Audi Deal said they've no idea about it so all the people above who have had success must be freak incidents...

Some people on this forum....

I was informed about this a while ago by some friends at Audi too. No point me going in though as Ive never had any issues.

sooo does anyone no the part number of the ones that are being changed?

had mine fitted today foc at blackburn audi, see my coilpack appology thread for details.

i've jumped on this too with email. although mine is an AGU with bolt down so maybe not covered? may as well ask about rotting roof rails whilst i'm there..... :)

just had mine booked in at audi bradford they did not have a clue until they ask about but are busy till 1st march or well free coils for me role on

Booked mine in! apparently theres a shortage of coilpacks since the recall so i got to wait two weeks :-S Getting a nice new A1 for the day though :-D

ask for recall reference number 28E9. ps the coilpacks are grey.

the 28E9 number is the recall ref number. audi know which recall your talking about when you ring with that ref number. the coilpacks are A06A 905 115 D.

Have you got a picture of what they look like? Mine are black bosch ones but you people say there only replacing the grey ones?

sorry no pici, not good on computer my old coilpacks were black, the ones fitted today are grey like a set hard silicone finish on top.

im saying nothing, look what i said, i post tongue in cheek most of the time,i carnt wait to meet welly he will love me after 5 mins, if he doesnt im going to arm wrestle him to sort it lol.

this is pretty annoying as I bought some a few weeks ago as one of mine went. ah well might see if I can get some

I think there is an apology due in this thread! lol

I suppose does anyone know if its a UK recall only, or would they have pity on a poor bankrupt Irish person?

i know it says all petrol engines but seems ony 4potters have had the work done foc any V8s had it done? mines 06

I can't believe I'm reading this. I've owned my 2003 S3 for 18 months and haven't had any coil packs replaced (80k miles). So what's the deal, just ring them up, say I want them checking in relation to this issue and book it in? How do I now whether they've been done before or not? If I'm entitled to this then I want to make sure I get it. Don't get much for free these days!

Ok anyone that has had the work done yet, how long did it take, was it a while you wait??

Just wandering why they have said it could be any time in the day and im getting a courtesy car....lol.

Well its all true people, I took my A3 in to have the roof rust repaired (Audi paying 70% cost) and while I was there they told me that they were changing the coils at the same time, it was a complete surprise to me and I didn't even have to ask, they seemed surprised that I knew about it because the recall has only been out for a week, the dealer is Taunton Audi by the way.

Audi should be paying 100% for the roof rail bud, have you gone through Audi UK ?

Yeah they won't have it, just said because the age and miles on the car(2001, 139k) thats the best they can do.

As above, its a 12 year warranty, its in the handbook, take it in and dispute it mate, there are hundreds of people that have had the work done under warranty for free....

I found out cause my mate works for Audi, bet the wish i didn't find out now. I'm always in taunton, keep an eye out for a 03 ming blue with fmic with yellow pipes.

so does all this mean that my local garage were lying? they said i wasn't entitled to coil packs on my car (AGU) and that the roof warranty was just 3 years? might try another local one.

As everyones already mentioned just had my car in for some work and had the coil packs all changed as part of the campaign.

agu is exempt as we already have good coilpacks. someone posted before in this thread that our ones (hitachi i believe) arent included and it was only the later ****** ones.

anti-corrosion warranty is what ur after in terms of the roof rust and thats 12 years
