Parking - Frame and Shame

I know this has been ranted about and discussed to death, but I just had to post this up with some supporting photos.

So, I just stopped off at McDonald's for a quick bite to eat, parked in the "quiet" part of the carpark well away from other cars, was gone for no longer than 5 minutes, and yes you've guessed it..... when I returned to my car I find that some d*ck has parked right next to it even though there were about 30 other spaces to choose from!!!!

Some people are just unbelievable!

I sat in a carpark the other day when the missus was in the bank and watched some women pull up in a little ford Ka and just blatantly open her car door bang onto the car parked beside her, not a tap, a proper swing the door open onto this car, she didn't batter an eye lid, like she hadn't even noticed what she'd just done.

yeah its definately a physcological thing... I dont think people do it to be dicks. Maybe he feels if mcdonalds were to explode, your a3 would shield his astray from any shrapnel!

People definately feel some kind of security parking there cars next to others.

Reminds of a time that I got back to my car to find a woman using the side of my car as an object to stop her shopping trolley rolling away while she unloaded it.
I walked up to my car, looked at her, pointed at the trolley in disbelief and asked why she's resting it on my car, and she just looked back at me with an expression on her face of 'what you complaining about??'

Its weird, they feel more secure parking their car next to another one but don't give a sh*t that the other owner might open the car door and dent their door/wing/etc.

I was in my car when he returned and came that close to asking him why he felt the need to park next to my car and so close to it at that.
Couldn't be a*sed in the end, it would have only ended in an argement.

Its pretty obvious why this has happened.

By parking next to another car, one that is of very good quality he eliminates the risk of his car being hit on by 50%.

As you have a decent car, the chances of you banging/pranging or hitting his are reduced, because he can see the car is an audi and clearly looked after and knows that the owner would not want to risk hitting his and therefore damaging there own.

If you had a worser/lesser/older car im sure he would have parked elsewhere.

I always park next to newer/nicer cars as the liklyhood of being pranged is greatly reduced.

I never ever park next to another old car, and in super parkets etc I park way away from other cars if I can.... part of the problem is a lot of towns seem to use the local caretakers Mk1 Mini as a guide to how wide the white lines should be grrrrrrrrrrrrr

To be fair I never segregate my car when parking I always park close to others for reasons already said but also would never park next to a car if other spaces are available.
Would have parked one or two away. Or closest to the Mcd's door.
Then again might of thought you were doggin lol

I remember I was at a service station in the carpark peacefully eating a sandwich, next thing I hear, thud! I got out the car and questioned the guy that hit my car with his rear door, he seemed oblivious to it but then later remembered...we both checked for damage but luckily there wasn't any...if there had have been I don't know what I would have done to be honest.

You get some right selfish mofos in car parks...especially the bigger/obese people who need to open their doors fully just to get in and out...they couldn't care less about other people's cars.

I agree with Dazmo with regards to parking next to a car that looks like the owner would care about it, thus showing respected to other car owners...in theory.

I'd be inclined to agree that the guy parked there because of forward thinking, if............................

.......he had parked on the driver's side of my car instead of the passenger side.
Parking on this side of someone's car is always a bad idea because generally passenger's don't really give a crap about the car they are in or the car parked next to them, and will happily open the door on to whatever might be obstructing it.

In a packed carpark with only a few free spaces then parking next to a nicer car makes sense, but in a carpark where there are only two spaces occupied and the rest are free, I just can't see any reason for it other than being a brainless nobhead.

I normally would, or at least park in the corner. But I was just driving through the carpark and then the urge for a cheeseburger took me. I looked around, saw the carpark was empty and just stuck the car where I did, thinking (incorrectly) that no one would park next to me because (1) there are loads of other spaces, and (2) i'd only be gone for a few minutes.

How wrong was I !!

tbh, when I do see two bay parkers I hate them with a passion. Almost as much as Smart car drivers who park with their nose facing the kerb...

I think I've cracked this one - your car must be that nice he had to pleasure himself, check out the kleenex on the parcel shelf. Vauxhall drivers can only fantasize about audi & must be discreet about this, hence the need to get up close.

My wife used to have an old Peugeot 306 which was our only car for a short while. Last year we went to B&Q and I parked at the far end away from everyone else. I left the wife and kids in the car because I only had to get a couple of things. While I was away, a guy parked next to us, opening his door onto ours. He walked off, so my wife got out and called him; but he totally ignored her. Needless to say, when I got back I 'accidentally' opened our door on his car, leaving a slight dink. of all the spaces to pick!

Having said that though, a colleague of mine has a Prius and always parks next to nice cars, including mine. I asked him why and he said it was because he knew those people look after their cars, so his wouldn't be at risk...

Retail car parks are the worst. A few weeks after I bought the Audi early last year, I had a scratch running the entire lenght of the car where someone tried to squeeze through with bags between the two cars. I still haven't got the sratch out properly.

Then while we had all the poor weather before Christmas, again I was parked in a retail car park. This time I gave myself two free spaces either side of me. ****** me, when I got back there was an old polo parked next to me. I don't know why, but I felt compelled to check my car and hey presto...as if by magic...there were four scratches running from the rear bumper to the front wheel arch, collecting the alloys along the way. My saving grace this time was that the car was so dirty it just took the top layer of grime off, rather than the paintwork!

I do exactly the same whatever car i'm in.. Went back one day to see a fat guy had asked someone else to climb into his car from the passenger side and reverse it out of the space as he was too fat to get in.
