LED H11 Foglight bulb on 8P3

I installed some LED H11 bulbs in my foglights, i realy like the look, but it gives me 2 errors everytime i start the engine, is there a way to get rid of them ?

Aesthetically the fogs looks good, but in terms of performance, noticed any difference??

The DRL's in your headlights look 'bluer' than normal too, have you changed these?

I thnk your errors may be down to resistors being needed. Can you provide a pic or link of the actual bulb?

They do not light up as much, but the old ones did not light up enough to use em either (in Norway we can't use xenons and fog-lights at the same time, restricted by law)

the blue color is just from the camera, they are both pretty white with a pinch of blue.

I bought them of eBay from some random guy (no brand) but i got a picture of the actual "bulb".

Blimey! That's quite some LED farm you've got there!

If you read up the other current forum threads regarding bulbs, you'll see that some cars are more sensitive than others for throwing up errors. There's resistor advice given on those threads...

Yeah i guess 68 in each bulb is enough
I can only find posts about HID lights, that includes a ballast. I cant seem to find anything about LED lights..

Try the link below - IIRC post #26 gives the resistance of resistor to use. There have been quite a few other threads giving similar info.:icon_thumright:

No mate !

That was just so that you could test the voltage at the terminals without a bulb being present !

You will need something like a 150 ohm 1 watt resistor across the bulb. Connect either way round.

Was trying to show the OP one of the many many threads that mention which resistors to use here for the newer 8Ps that are obviously more tempramental for throwing errors than my old 07 car!

No probs mate ! I used 150 ohm resistors for the sidelights of my 2006 sportback so I'm assuming they will be ok for these number plate bulbs !

OOPS - just realised we're talking here of foglamp bulbs ! The car will be expecting a current draw per bulb of about 5 amps (55 watt bulb at 12 volts ) so, much less, and it'll throw an error I would imagine.

Don't really think 150 ohms is going to help much but you could try it out without it doing any harm. I don't know what current draw those led's are so I can't work out the resistance required.

Haven't had any experience with big value led's I'm afraid, sorry !
