Hampshire South Central Meet 20th Feb 2011

Hi again guys,

With regards to this event, where is the meeting for the convoy? and what time? If this is happening, I will be along, even if just for the drive and introduce myself!:D

@ sam: a carpark in Christchurch near Bargates roundabout. 50.735714,-1.780263 - Google Maps

I'll be there at 9.45am, leaving at 10, should be plenty of time to convoy over to the meet. That okay with you Tom?

sounds perfect to me gavin :) just aslong as my car stops making this annoying knocking tho! looks like it might need striping down :banghead:

Future (Tom) ment to be there but I dunno if he still coming as he did say there's summat wrong with his S3. I can still meet you there if you want?

Ah that's a bummer! Hope Tom makes it! Yeh, that would be cool, as I'm not 100% sure where I am going in southampton once there. Would be cool to meet you first too!:D

Yeah cool mate! I'll see you in Christchurch tomorrow morning at 10 :)

How did it go guys?

I'm sorry I couldn't make it :(

No worries mate. Well pretty crap tbh! Only 3 cars turned up.

Just don't understand why loads of people complain and say there isnt a local audi meet around, then you take the time to organise one, and hardly any makes the effort to turn up! Hopefully next one we'll get a better turnout, otherwise better stickin with the VAG meets lol

Thats a shame :(

Its always a problem with internet based clubs as it's a big jump from posting online to getting yourself out there. I was working unfortunately, (I work 3 in 4 weekends and leave is precious). I'd like to make it along some time though, I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Good job Gav for settin this up.
I have to admit I was a culprit of wanting a local meet and not being able to go.
I have to work some Sundays and can't get out of it when called.

Maybe there will be a better response during the summer if the sun shines, plenty of notice so peeps can sort work etc or maybe make it a afternoon/evening.

Well I was one of the 3 cars and after about 20mins in the cold went to pick up my wife to go to the car club I set up with some friends that actually do meet up and socialise.

We're a slightly unusual club in that we have all makes of cars and promote events that other car clubs are having as well as our own, so members can always find something to go to. We also aren't seeking to replace car specific clubs as we all belong to other clubs/forums. It's just we've found we're pretty good at getting people to events as we're aimed at those who want to meet up, not simply take part in a forum. We started the forum a few weeks back and have got 20 people to our last two social meets. Not too big, but plenty to talk about. Partners and family also very welcome. Our early morning trips to the Goodwood breakfast clubs usually gets 5 cars meeting up at 7.30 on a Sunday morning and we're back home by Noon.

I'm about to find out this forum's view on links to other clubs. Suffice it to say we have a link to this site on our forum as it's a very good club/forum.

If you have a look at Home you can see whether it may interest you and what meets we have lined up. We certainly aren't looking for mass signups but anyone serious about meeting up with fellow car enthusiasts is more than welcome to contact us. That is why I've only posted this in the meets board.
