S3 AMD visit

Just got back from my long trip to AMD in Essex for there stage 2+ upgrade and have to say its epic.It goes like stink and sounds like a rally car with the ITG and milltek non res,so it was a long,very fun trip home.No flat spots,it just boosts and pulls hard through the rev range.Im more than pleased with the results,they have done a great job.Big thanks to everyone at AMD:thumbsup:

I can confirm it goes like a particulary runny poo off a greased shovel and sounds awesome, the chatter sounds amazing.

Do you know what the before and after BHP was for your motor?

They did 2 runs with the all the parts on before and after the map.before was 286bhp 321.6 lb/ft and after is a little inconclusive as it was rearing up and wheel spinning on the dyno so the figures could very well be wrong.it came back with 327.4 bhp and 356.3 lb/ft.It certainly feels more than that on the road.

Really glad you're pleased with this.

AMD have done some excellent work for me over the last couple of years,and I would recommend them to anyone,especially after the turbo upgrade on mine.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of fun out of it....once the car has adapted,you may well end up with a bit more than you have right now,and more important than the BHP,your torque figures will give an excellent midrange.

Std to 2+ must be quite a change for you!!

I have been std, 1, 2, and now 2+ so could always feel the incriments!

327.4 bhp is loooooooooooow. But its all about the RR lottery as everyone reminds me when I show em 377.4 on stage 2 from the AMD road!!

Big difference,cant believe it really.They said at AMD that with it spinning on the dyno it can mess up the figures.I had a shark map on before christmas for a bit which produced 320 and its stupidly quicker with stage 2+.

I'd say it's abit more than 327 now stu, not sure how much more but if a RR came back at 350bhp I wouldn't be surprised.

Stg2 S3 must really be some fun! All this talk of more power makes me wanna squeeze some more out of the TDi lump, hybrid turbo next on the cards me thinks! Enjoy it lad! AMD do some good work

stg 2+ must be producing way more then that, id even be disappointed with 350 (id be expecting 370-380) to be honest considering my map produced 345 on the AMD rollers

It certainly feels very quick for 327,its going like a stabbed rat today so maybe the rolling road figures are incorrect.Im more than happy with it and the car seems happy with it too so thats the main thing.If i feel like i need to chat with him i will do but its going really well.

Yeah i was suprised but they mentioned that the rollers where nearly ready for a change so it seems thats the cause of the low figures

Best get them changed before mine's due in again!

It's the midrange torque that's giving you the acceleration,and the figures there looked very good,plus the fact that the HPFP and Stg2+ software really do smooth out the torque,and remove the dip that you get without the HPFP.
