3, 5, 8mm silicone tubing......

Evening gents.

I need to know if 3, 5 and 8mm silicone are the correct sizes for replacing all the rubber hoses in the engine for the expansion tank, charcoal canister, boost lines etc?

I know the boost lines, like dv are 3mm but what about the rest.

I got 3,5 and 8mm and replaced it all,so yep!

Ohh, and some 25mm from charge pipe to DV if you wanted to do that too

8 mm will do a lot of it. I bit the bullet and got the forge replacements and got the silicone lenghts at the same time. Just to note I ordered a length of 13mm hose to replace the pipe under the DV but it arrived as a 13mm outer dia not inner, so be carefull if your ordering any other bits.

I get all my stuff from here, delivery is always within 2days, and great quality too.
they sell alloy joiners etc too.

Also, if you wanted to replace the 2 lines which run to the fuel rail, you will need 1m of 8mm fuel resistant silicone (i recommend this as they get very worn, mine were badly perished, im suprised they hadnt split)

I've had all the hoses available for Forge replaced on my S3.

How much of 3, 5, 8mm should I get to do the rest?

Is it just straight hoses I need, or any elbows?

Roughly how many jubilee clips? What sizes?

Nar, that 19mm if i remember correctly, tbh though, normal silicones fine for that, it's not like its got constant oil running through it.

Cheers! Was your 3mm,5mm, and 8mm all Vac Hose? Or was the 8mm the straight silicone stuff?

Charcoal is around 5mm i squeezed some 3mm on but its to tight really....

Its the coolant bottle by the charcoal canister

By the way I made a mistake, it WAS the pipe between the hockey puck and TIP that was the 13mm I/D pipe not the DV..my bad
