some are heavy, and can bend easily with bumps in the road etc, but you can get some decent reps out there.

I have had at least 10 sets of replica rims, and non have been bad. They are usually heavy, but that's not to say OEM versions wheels are lighter. Unless we are talking about BBS replicas, then there would obviously be a weight difference between genuine and reps, you pay an arm and a leg to own genuine BBS rims, you expect them to be mega strong and lighter for the privilege.

And with the buckling thing, hit any pothole hard enough, and wheels bend! Genuine or replica, there's nothing to say that reps are softer or easier to buckle.

All in my opinion of course, with over 150k miles of using replica wheels with budget tyres in the last 15 years or so.

I have used replica wheel's without any problem's. If you change your wheel's often then buy rep's as trend's change all the time.

had one set , buckled a wheel so got rid. cheap and cheerful and easy to replace

My car had reps on it when i got it and they were scratched and bent from hitting kerbs.
got inovit wheels after that and they didnt last very long and corroded very easily. Ive been through three sets of wheels in 2 years and looking to a new set for the summer so im trying to decide on getting an expensive set or just some reps

i have bbs ch reps aint paying 1200 quid for genuines just for a bbs inprint on the wheel they are fine ran them through winter no corrosion as long as you look after the wheels they will be fine reps or not.

i recomend a full coat of poor boys wheel sealent before you put new wheels on

cheers for that advice, i know this may sound silly but what is 'poor boys sealent' and how come i should use this?

the one thing to bear in mind tho is that BBSs are highly sought after, and when you want to change them you'll probably get most of your money back. long term, reps don't make any sense to me personally. plus you can tell they're reps, and they rarely look as good as OEM wheels
