Turning on alarm beep and coming home lights

vcds for beep
parts retrofit for the lights

Alarm beep is VCDS. Takes 30 seconds to do but Audi will want £50 ! Find someone local to you with VCDS who is prepared to help.

Coming home lights need to have auto lighting installed in the car for it to work. It isn't just a case of tweaking the settigs although that needs to be done as well.

There is a workaround but involves putting in an additional wire to the light switch which then means that locking/unlocking will put the lights on day and night rather than just at night.

Yea both of those are easily done, the coming home lights link there with the repair wire is no different to OEM except the lights will come on day/night and the beep is just a coding matter also!

Someone close to you with VCDS couldn't charge you more than £20 for those two things

This may sound stupid but as Im interested in this Ill ask.... From the link above theres a paragraph that says...

"You can leave the light switch at the off position and the lights will go off after the timeout, or you can turn on your parking lights and once the timeout period has elapsed all the lights will go out leaving just the selected parking light(s) on."

Does that mean that if you have the switch set to DRL as mine usually is, that once you lock the car, after the set time the side lights, dipped lights and tailight will go out, but the DRL`s will stay on?

Don't think so !

Don't the DRL's only work with ignition on ? I think what it means is that, say you wished to leave your sidelights only on, then you turn the switch to 'sidelights' Then after the coming home lights have gone off the sidelights will stay on.

DRL's have nothing to do with sidelights afaik .
