3921 miles A4, one week.

That sounds fantastic! Its the exact sort of trip I'm looking to do. Do you fancy doing it again? Hehe.

Very nice. Having a read now.

I did close to that in 2 weeks, starting off in northen france, down the west coast in to southern spain, north up the east coast in to andorra and then home.
Tempted to do you trip. some nice images

Yeh, that does sound awesome.

I think though, if i were to do it, i'd split it up and take a lot more time, giving more opportunities to visit and see things.

Perhaps one trip north, to cover the Scandinavian countries and a bit of Germany, then another trip south covering Mediterranean countries.

I wonder what the missus would think of a driving-holiday for our honeymoon :p

Edit: fancy posting a map of your route?

Do it, its amazing.
Me and the misses did it and camped every where. spent about 2-4 days in most places.

Only thing I did not like was cooking my brakes coming out of the pyrenees.

Yeh, the problem is i've jokingly suggested previously we could goto the nurburgring for our honeymoon, to which she replied something along the lines of "are we fock", so she may well see "european driving holiday" in the same light as "trip to nurburgring" :p

Just tell her you wont be going to nurburgring see if that helps or just dont tell her any thing.
Load the car up, pick her up and head for the ferry.

I'll find our trip map if you want.

I'll try and get a map up of our route. Problem is we never actually planned a route properly, ended up seeing a lot less than we hoped to. BUT:- We did get to experience driving in seven different countries, eight if you include Lichenstein!

I did a similar journey with my actual girlfriend a year later, but this time in a '95 Peugeot 306, 1.4 with no power steering. This time I did a thousand fewer miles and omitted the journey up to Sweden, but spent a lot more time actually enjoying the places we did visit.

Of all the cars I could have tackled the Stelvio in, it had to be a 306 1.4!

Also, we came within half a mile of the Nurburgring, but it was ten o'clock at night. Besides, if we had managed to bin our "motorhome" on the ring we would have had serious accomodation / getting home issues.
