TQS progress thread, From STD-Scroll-Eliminator.

Many things have changed on her, and lazyness on my part.

I have collected some parts ready to be fitted when funds allow.
S4 skirts and door trims,
Votex front and rear skirts.
RS4 Front brakes..

The main thing i have changed is the front spring seats to B7 alloy ones as they add 10-15mm to my ride height.I had been struggling with the front being too low to be practical.

I have pics and will add them when at the proper PC.

The big news is, my gorgeous wife is sponsoring my car to be mapped. The car is currently all alone at the tuners being done. I have asked for a run before the flashable ECU is fitted out of morbid curiosity to see what the maths provided us with.

I am then hoping for a run on the flashable ECU for a base figure before the magicians work their magic. I am so excited, but also worried that it won't realise any more power than the pikey mod we currently have running,LOL.

So as it stands when standard i had 175 BHP and we now await updates.....

As an addition, i am thinking about cobbling together a larger TIP like Badger Bill has as gain are to be had there with very little downsides and additional mapping doesn't seem to be necessary to release the power

Ok i asked the guys to run her as is to start with just to see and we came up with this..

Thats not bad for our guesswork tweaks, not as much as the maths would have suggested as the following plot is ATW from when she was bog standard

Quote "Its not a very smooth curve but not bad considering the ECU is unable to accuratley work out load values because of the maf mod.
There is obviously something amiss there so mapped correctly even running the same boost there is more power to be had. "

This is the ride height after the matching spring seats were fitted, not as "slammed" looking but she drives so much better now.

Before the B6/7 seats were fitted she used to ground out on white lines.

Slight update, Flashable ECU fitted and ATW run done. It seems to spool a bit quicker than the TQS ecu did.

Also a pin added to ECU harness to allow OBD flashing to save time in the future.

018CJ now puts 134 down ATW

This one is currently only boosting at std 8 PSi as its originally from a 150 BHP car

OEM turbo and map did 132.
RRt747ydu2.jpg

thats boosting at 12 psi IIRC

131.2 on oem turbo and ecu @ 12 psi base line figure
134.8 on scroll Outlaw and 018CJ ECU and 8 PSI, so now i have the same power as OEM but at a lower pressure and added bonus of flashable ECU

So you've gained 30BHP from the hybrid turbo alone (150BHP - 180BHP ish).

How is that working if the boost is calculated from the MAF? or is that with the 3" MAF fitted too?

yeah fueling wasn't perfect , but is on the safe side of wrong so that's good. Timing is being left to the ECU currently, so again safe, but not perfect. Over all i am happy with that.

I am just waiting for the next installment now......

The boost figures you mention above cant be right.

The ECU bases the boost pressure on the MAF, and the MAF has changed... As a result both the 558DA and 018CJ will be running more boost than they're mapped for, simply because of the scaled maf.

..but the OEM figure is on the smaller OEM MAF isn't it? That's what I presumed anyway. The other figures do show increased boost.

EDIT- show increased power sorry not boost but there's obviously increased airflow.

His original 130hp ATW figure was on the old maf at 12psi, sure.

But he said the run on the 018CJ ecu was at 8psi, but it wont have been due to the 3" MAF.

I think he means the ECU is mapped to produce 8PSI (used as a reference).

That suggests he thinks he made 134.8 at 8psi...

Ok ok ok, i have been told off, The boost pressures are what the ECU is seeing, due to the scaled MAF. In reality they are 3 -4 PSI better that that. Sorry for misleading

so 15 on 558DA and 11-12 on 018CJ OK ?

Good work mate... looks like yours will be mapped up and done before mine!! LOL

<tuffty/>

Yep ^^

Mid tweakage plot.

AFR was running at around 13:1 before and i am hoping for an AFR of 12:1 ish @ WOT

I think that's right i don't have my emailed figures here

No AFR or boost plot to with that graph mate? would be interested to see how AFR is affecting the power in this case... if you say its rich higher up that would explain the graph somewhat but would be nice to see how AFR is doing in relation to the curve :)

So you now have a new ECU which can be flashed and your car's currently being custom mapped via the OBD port with one extra wire to allow this is that correct sofar........ oh and you have around 215bhp with initial mapping.

So please tell what sort of money will they be looking for to do another custom map?

Hard to be sure exact figure @ FW at the mo.
But yeah more or less mate.
Yours is flashable anyway so you're good to go

Its around 250 assuming 25% losses atm hoping for slightly more without pushing it too much as it's currently doing 1.5 bar @ max power and 1.2 to redline

What's 250 mate? I'm confused (I know.. doesn't take much lol)

Edit - ha ha I see minus 25%!! Got it.
