As some of you may know the turbo went on my car a fortnight ago, I had it sent to Turbodynamics who said the turbine housing was cracked and the turbine totally f00ked, so not in a recondition-able state.

So I found a turbo on eBay, It was an apparently low mile K03 of a mk5 GTi, same engine code as my car....

VW Golf mk5 GTi KK3 TURBO CHARGER T FSi 06F145701B on eBay (end time 17-Jan-11 18:02:30 GMT)

Bought for £200, spoke the to seller who replied to all my messages in quick time, had a chat over the phone, and he was very helpful, said he take many more photos of the turbo for me...Anyway I bought it and we agreed i would pay extra to have it sent 24 hr fully insured to TD in Devon...

After paying for the turbo the seller now has stopped replying to all of my messages and calls, totally ignoring me. The turbo was meant to be sent by him on Wednesday to be with TD on today, and he has not done this.

I bought it on Monday night since then he was totally ignored me, after agreeing he would sent it the day after. Now my car is waiting here without a turbo and I am carless :(

I'm unsure what to do now, wait for sorry *** to reply, and be without a car for even longer or buy a brand new one and request a refund/open a dispute?!!
Please help
ps the user is ravy_singh Please not not buy anything off him! hes got some 8P S3 mirros on sale too amongst other bits and bobs.

well its to early to dispute it all you can do is wait
have you tried to call him again ?

I have called im about 2-3 times Tuesday Wed and today! No f**ckin answer, and once it was engaged...

No reply to ebay message either. Some one on here is selling a Ko3 now, gutted I did not buy that one as i am sure they would not mess me about.

I'll ask him a question about the mirrors and i'll see if he gets back to me.

id give it a couple more days hopefully you will recive it

i did but thing I'll have to wait atleast 10 days after this monday to get it sorted, while not knowing if this one's gonna get sent or not, and with no car.

all you can do is buy another one and if the 1st one turns up sell it. or keep it for next time yours blows haha

Considering buying the other , its cheap as well, and the guys off here..Audi_Rog

Just out of interest, what mileage is on yours? Mine is coming up to 30k and thinking about mapping mine. Dont want it to blow tho :(

Akash..I really do hope this sorts itself out properly, but did you look at the seller's feedback first?

8 items in total, and the most costly transaction as a seller was the Audi light for a total of £25...all of the others were as buyer.

It has the smell of something dodgy about it,and if something looks too cheap,it often is....as before,I hope you get this sorted.

Well i did and know hes only got 8 but he was very genuine and helpful when we spoke on the phone, hopefully paypal will refund me and charge him back, if he dont send it, but still a major annoyance should've had the car back by now.

ebay is full of dodgy people as i said in another thread you have got to so carefull nowadays hope you get this sorted out mate

Have you his address?
Might be worth paying him a visit?

In general the more people talk/blag the more worried id become.

Paypal are pretty good with things like this, you can report it on paypal virtually straight away after the transaction,
if you report the dispute through paypal, they will hold the amount you paid and request that he supplies proof of postage, if he can't, you get your money back. Tends to take about a week.

Hope it gets sorted but tbh give it more time. You never know, he may have had a family problem etc thats stopping him logging on.

As said above, paypal will put a hold on the money and it will force him to post it so not alls lost. Otherwise you will get a full refund.

Well I've reported it on eBay and paypal just waiting the required time before it can be escalated to a dispute, in the mean time arranging for another turbo to be sent to turbodynamics..

Having the worst luck with this and then my clutch in November!!

80% of people are honest, but there is a good proportion who ruin it for everyone. Shame really.

The sad thing is that I get the impression we have to be extra vigilant in the UK compared to, for example eBay.de or .com

TBH he could have a genuine reason for not replying.

I have had issues as a seller and not been able to despatch when initially promised etc, things happen sadly.

I do hope it rectifies itself though as it's a pain when you have no car

This is true but the manner in which the seller went from replying to messages/ answering his phone immediately to absolutely ignoring me in the space of 12 hours is a bit dodgy....Not even one text , ebay message or call to explain! And I paid him nearly £20 extra for day after 24 hr dispatch.
